This morning Bob and I attended a Customer Appreciation Day open to everyone from Drs. McKinley and Peters. Dr. McKinley has been our vet since he came down from Canada and started his practice. He is the one who saved Pepper's life a few weeks ago. He talked over an hour about the problem of unwanted horses and what we are going to do about it. Maybe tomorrow I can go over the list. Then his Vet Assistant talked about emergency kits and what to carry. She added some things but her biggest thing was duct tape.
Probably the most interesting part of the day was a demonstration on a mini stallion named Shrek of a scope that they can examine the stomach with. Down thru the nose. We saw his esophagus, and all parts in between. He told us with this machine they can diagnose strangles and virtually eradicate it.
Now we are off to have dinner with our kids. I did not know they were coming so early or I would not have started this. The sun is shining, stalls are cleaned and now off to eat.
Blessings.

Busy end of week
Don't know the name of this little lake. Lots of horse prints, poop piles but no horses there when we were. It is low before you start up the mountain and before the fish hatchery.
Bob and I went to a funeral this morning for Darlene Griffeth. A very sweet lady from our church. She had suffered from Alzheimer's for several years. She had a smile that never left her face even when she didn't know who you were. A loving dear lady that never said anything bad about any one.
Then we went and had the car serviced bought some groceries at Walmart and came home. We both took naps. Bob's leg is much better. He is thanking the Lord for it today. Me too. He did the chores this morning. They were done when I woke up.
On Monday, goodbye dial up Internet. I was so glad that Bob decided we needed it. Maybe he got tired of my complaining. Oh well, whatever the reason I am very grateful for it. Although to this point I would not have Internet at all if it were not for dial up.
We have a busy weekend ahead. I may or may not be here until Sunday. Take care and....
Blessings

The Lost Is Found
This picture however is at an adoption near Odessa, WA and the horses getting out of the truck. They come out pretty fast.
This is where we saw Cloud. See the horses in that opening between the trees and there are a couple of horses there. Cloud came out of the trees on the left and I was so excited I forgot to take a picture.
This is Exhilaration. He has quite a reputation on the Pryors. He has gone a couple of times to a QH ranch and gotten into a group of mares. They have moved him to the top of the Herd Management area and in a few days he was back. They took him back farther. He seems to be staying there. He walked out in front of our truck and and stood there and then ambled across
like this is my road. He was with a Bachelor band of 5 or 6 others. They were not so bold though. He was quite young here 3 maybe.
Seattle and part of his harem. He is the black one. There was another silver mare and foal.
There are 2 horses over at the base of the hill. I thought they would show up better. One is dark and the other is a dun. They were the first horses we saw in the Pryors. I was excited for sure.

Our littlest cowboy Isaac. He is 6 now. He loves to ride.
Our grandson Ryan when he was 10 and went for a week into the Bob Marshall Wilderness with his grandpa and some other folks. He had a good time.

Another grandson Tyler with his grandpa riding over in Montana. Tyler lived with us almost 2 years. Loved it.

Had a good day. The valve got stuck in the automatic waterer in Sages stall and when I went to get her to put her out it was very wet. I got it to turn off and thankfully it dried out during the day.
Blessings.

Sunny and Cold
I had a really fun experience this evening about 5:30. Bob went outside to leave for a meeting and he came and told me to come out. I grabbed a sweater (its 15 degrees out) and went out. On the telephone pole across the road sat a really big Great Horned Owl. He had who whoed at Bob when he went out. I made a who who sound and he answered me and then another one on the next pole that we had not noticed answered. I had never had a conversation with an owl before but it was fun. One of them finally flew but when I gave up from the cold and came in the other sat there. I believe it probably is a pair. I know they are around but have never seen two close together. We hear them once in a while. It was fun to talk with them.
What a beautiful day. Even though it was very cold. I did the chores and put the horses out when it was time and mucked stalls. I picked up around. I don't know how stuff gets scattered around during the winter. Sage just continues to get sweeter and handles better. I can rub down her front legs clear to the hoof. I was too cold to pick them up or spend the time working toward that so just rubbed them. She lets me hug on her. If Bob felt top notch I would have put a saddle on her today.
Bob did not sleep well last night but had a better day. He did help with the chores this evening. He did the water. That is an aggravation to me when its this cold. He drove himself to the meeting tonight so he must be better.
Tomorrow Pistol has her surgery. I wish he had done it a couple of months ago but she is only 8 months old so its not too bad.
Blessings this Tuesday evening.

Finally Some Answers
Bob had a good doctor appointment and we finally got some answers from the doctor. He had gone to the chiropractor that did help his back but not his leg. He went to the ER and they took an ultrasound of his leg checking for blood clots, no blood clot. The Xrayed to check for a broken bone, no broken bone and still pain that leveled him. Have never seen him in pain like this. It took our family doctor not long at all to find a tear in the muscle of his calf and when he stood up it would irritate the nerve and then it would feel like a white hot knife in his calf. It will take time, but he gave him some really powerful pain killers so maybe he can get some sleep. The he is to wrap it snugly whenever he is going to be on it. So we will try this.
Katie did chores for us this evening because we were not home yet. She was a little leery of Sage because she had never handled her. I got a text a while ago saying she was awesome. I knew it of course.
A long day, Blessings.

A Sunny Sunday

She was a silly girl. I went up to the porch to talk to Bob through the screen door and instead of standing on the ground to wait for me, up she came right up on to the porch. She would follow me just about anywhere.

She was a pretty little thing wasn't she. I don't have a recent picture of her. The lady that adopted sends me some periodically. She grew into a pretty big girl. I loved her a lot and it was hard to let her go. She went to a good home though.
Got the stalls all cleaned out today. Played with Sage a bit and took a good nap. I have been really hungry for a turkey sandwich so I fixed a breast of turkey for dinner today. Now I can have a few sandwiches. It was a good dinner if I do say so.
The sun shone and it was a beautiful day however, it was cold and is getting colder. I don't care as long as the sun is shining. Hope your weekend was good. Blessings

Oh Happy Day
My tummy is OK. Unless I eat too much and then it hurts. It certainly is helping my portion control. Bob's calf is still almost unbearable pain most of the time. Sometimes he just forces himself like building the pen yesterday. But he has suffered for it today. Back to the doctor on Monday if it isn't much much better.
We moved Sage and Amelia into different stalls yesterday. Bob finished the 4th. one so Sage has a new room. I cleaned them both today. The other two got ahead of me so am glad there was a place to move them.
I will be sending an e mail to the Mustang Club this evening. We had a very good meeting yesterday evening. It was so good to see every one.
Take care my friends, I think winter is returning full blast. Oh well. Blessings.
