Hi all, I really have not reneged on my word to keep my blog up. But the old girl (computer) is still fighting me. It goes to the computer doctor next weekend. I will try to get my laptop going but don't know if that is possible either. My ignorance, not the computers.

All is well here. We have had fog, day in and day out fog. Then we had a few inches of snow and then some rain. Now we are back to fog. Some times so thick we can not see the house next door. I feel like I am living in a box.

The living room is all completed but one shelf to go up. I am anxious for that but everything else is good. I love the colors. Sunflower yellow ceiling, more gold then yellow middle and a golden brown lower - the bead board. Its bright and I love it it. I do color wherever I can. I would never have white walls or ceilings if its my choice. Color makes my heart happy.

The horses are all anxious for pasture weather to arrive. They like their hay but sure would like to get out in a larger area to run and exercise. The ponies too. We have not had enough snow at any one time for the sleigh and that makes me sad.

We should start having calves in a couple of weeks. I hate the early babies, it is not nice out for them to start their lives. If it stays above freezing it is better. Life on a farm I guess keeps you on your toes.

Be back when this troublesome machine comes back from Mr. Jay.

Blessings,

Now I will have to work at that. I had a couple of pictures our out new living room. I have most of it put together. Just the entertainment center to finish tomorrow. If any want to see it before I figure this problem out you can go to my Facebook page Lea Myers Williams.

We were blessed with a beautiful church service this morning. It was great to be there. Worship was wonderful. Outside of my family the 2 people I love the most are Pastor Greg and his wife Lisa. They are so dear to us and they are the worship pastors.

Other that and the living room, that was my day. It was 55 here today, now for sure we have tons of mud. I didn't get outside. That made me feel sad.

Have a wonderful week. Blessings.

I bet you thought I had disappeared again. I thought I might to because I had trouble getting here. I figured it out. Whew.

Last Saturday we had 7" of fresh snow. By the time we got up for church Sunday morning it was mostly gone and we had lakes. It got chilly again and now instead of mud we have ice. Oh good!!! Not.

Our living room is not done yet but almost. Bob is putting the trim up tonight so tomorrow I should be able to hang the curtains and begin getting the floor cleaned good before we put back the furniture. It is bright but we love it. I want to do the dining room next but I want him to get the front porch completed. I won't suggest it just now though. He has done such a good job even though its been slow going.

I have started walking again. Adding a little distance every day. I want to get back into shape so when I get Sage back from Kylee I will be able to ride and not feel like I am killing myself. If it was not so icy I would have worked with her today but not only would it not been safe for her, it would have been scary and unsafe for me too. So I didn't. I need to get my horse fix soon though.

I am a huge football addict. And most of that is with the Seattle Seahawks. I wish I could find a way to go to the Superbowl but it won't happen. Last year one of our grandsons flew to New York with no ticket but intending to get to the game. He did have a friend to stay with and he did get a pretty good ticket. I know it still cost him a fortune. I don't know if he will go to Phoenix or not. Have not talked with him. I will be surprised if he does not. I would not have to guts to go and plan on finding a ticket after I got there.

Well, not much else to say. Just plugging along. I just saw on Facebook 56 days until Spring. I am ready. So much to do outside.

Before the days get any further away from me, here I am with not too much to say. I see posts of people out riding their horses in the snow and I am jealous. I just can't get all those clothes on, saddle up the horse and ride. by the time I get all saddled I am tired. Darn it anyway. Wish I were young again or even have someone ride with me. There is not enough snow to get my sleigh out. Its a cutter and neeeds more of a base so the runners don't to the ground. My driving pony would love to be doing it and I am not sure Sage would not like to be ridden in the snow.

We are still working on the living room. It is 2/3 painted. Bob will finish it tomorrow or tuesday I imagine. It is brighter than I imagined but yet rich colored. Of course it will tone it down to have furniture in their too. He just has the wainscoting to paint. I may have a paint finishing, show off my living room party. I did not think it would take us this long to do it. If Bob would let me paint maybe it wouldn't but I don't do that well (at least he think).

Nikki was here since Thursday. We did not see too much of her as she was working at the wedding. The wedding was beautiful and I am glad I got to go see the beautiful bride and her handsome new husband. The meal was good, the cake delicious and it was good to see so many friends.

It quiet here today. Yesterday the Seahawks won their football game and today I watched to see who they would play and get to beat for them to get the the superbowl. I would have rather seen Dallas but we got Green Bay. I really am a football fanatic, sorry. And Gonzaga basketball. They won yesterday too. I am a Washington State University alumni so guess I should be rooting for them.

Life just goes on. I am ready for spring but know it is a way off. I hope this finds you all well.

Not much to say today. We are still working on the living room. Bob has just about got all the wainscoting up. Just a couple of small places left. I will start painting tomorrow. Then he can start helping me paint. Its not the best thing I do but I want it done.

Saturday night and Sunday we got about 6" of snow and during the night it started to rain. So this morning we had a few inches of slop. I had a hard time getting the car up our little slope up to the road this afternoon. The main roads were OK. Our road got plowed, we are fortunate to live on a school bus route.

Our daughter Nikki is coming over Thursday to coordinate a wedding. The mother of the bride is a wedding coordinator too and she has done it up till now and Nikki will take over Thursday. We probably won't see a lot of her but what we do I will be greatful for. We went to Everett for Christmas but stayed at our other daughters. No room for us with all the Christmas stuff. We saw a lot of her but not enough. She has had a tough year.

So nothing really going on in this part of the country. I promised to keep at this.

BlessingsLea and her Mustangshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10081978031741002235noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1849393342737666986.post-26840247484663288782015-01-03T16:34:00.001-08:002015-01-03T16:34:21.239-08:00January 3, 2015

Kind of a dreary day with just a tiny bit of new snow. More is supposed to fall in the morning and then rain the rest of the week. Doesn't that just sound like jolly fun. Wrong.

We really are getting to the living room. Everything but the couch is moved in to the dining room. Tazzy the cat is really confused what is going on. She walks around with a puzzled expression, climbs on stuff and acts pretty silly. The dogs just say oh well, as long as their blankets are on the couch. Maggie just lays in her bed observing.

Bob just went out to feed our "dependents". The donks are really telling him to hurry up and Sage is banging on the panel by their feeder with her front foot. I think she thinks she is ringing the dinner bell.

Nothing much else today.

Day 2 of my promise. Nothing too exciting from this part of Washington State. We got a little snow this morning but we are due for a larger storm on Sunday. We have had so little this winter that I really won't complain.

We went into spokane today. Did several errands and then went to Lowes to get paint for our living room. We had the wainscotting for the living room for 2 or 3 years and Bob decided this was the time to get it up and paint. I had a difficult time picking the correct colors. I had planned with shades of pumpkin but it did not strike me this afternoon. I hope we can really get going on it this weekend. I am excited about it being fresh and clean.

The animals outside are just fine. Rosie and Sequoia have their own pen and shelter. She was so glad to see him again. Raven and the 2 donkeys have their own pen. Raven missed Wrangler but seems to be OK now. They were really best buds. Sage, Rusty and Chemmy have the other area with a shelter. Rusty and Chemmy play a lot together but Chem wants to eat and be close to Sage.

We wnt to deliver some things to one of our great grand daughters today. We had to leave it hanging on the back door. She was being babysat by her big brother and he was asleep and she is not supposed to answer the door so she didn't. I really wanted to see her but I am glad she was obedient even though her mom was gone to an appointment.

Maybe I will get out and take some pictures tomorrow. Then I will have to see if I can fight with the computer to see if I can get at least one of them to load.

Blessings to you,Lea and her Mustangshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10081978031741002235noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1849393342737666986.post-68498481071751937532015-01-01T18:06:00.001-08:002015-01-01T18:06:20.176-08:00Lea is Back

Here I am again. Still fighting with my computer. I thought it was doing well until I went to do this. I promise I will be more faithful about keeping up here. I know its been many months since I tried. I have worked things out somewhat but until I tried to do this it doing its own thing again.

We are well and happy. Bob is working off and on at a friends wheat ranch. No just wheat but oats and barley too. This time of the year no so much to do and I like that. He went into the Bob Marshall Wilderness in June with some friends and had an awesome time. We both went camping with our horses late Spring down in central Idaho for a week. We had a great time and rode a lot. Sage did very well. When she gets tired though she gets naughty and thinks she can tell me what to do. Bob went elk hunting on horseback this year and had a great time.

I rode some all summer but not like I would have liked looking back at it. I have a problem getting the saddle on Sage is part of the problem. When Bob is around or my grandsons it works OK. I want to get a trainer to ride her a month maybe in March. There are some things she needs to figure out. She never bucks or runs off, she just refuses to go where I want her to when she thinks she has gone far enough.

In November we had a terrible experience. Our wonderful horse that anyone could ride anywhere got stuck in the feeder somehow and broke his jaw and neck. The worst part of it was our grandchildren next door found him struggling and when they were tring to figure out what to do he died. We were not home, we were having lunch with our great grandchildren after church. We have wonderful neighbors, they had all pitched in and had him almost buried by the time we got here. We are still crying when we think about it too much. Wrangler was a wonderful horse.

Earlier this fall we accumulated another pony. We had Sequoia a few years ago and gave him to a couple of young girls. They had all but outgrown him and moved to Kansas so he came back. He is an awesome pony.

I still am leading a bible study for some young women. Love that and love them.

No real resolutions. I never keep them. I am going to try to ear healtheir and to get back to exercising. I know I feel better when I do.

We have had very little snow but its been very cold. It was 7 last night at midnight.

In October for our 57th. anniversary we went down to the Oregon Coast. We enjoyed it but the weather was atrocious. Poured, and I mean poured down rain and the wind blew.

I promise to try to get some pictures posted on here. They do not want to work too much. I need a new computer really bad. I have a laptop but it does not seem to be any better. I think it might be operator trouble.

Bless you all and I promise to be back.
Well here I am after all of this time. I am fine, Bob is fine. Just a lot of computer problems and the dumb thing would not let me on.

Today is my 76th. birthday. I never did believe I would live this long now did I think I would be still riding my horse. The picture is yesterday on a 2 1/2 hrs. ride over some beautiful countryside. We saw lots of wild flowers, geese with strings of baby following mama, we saw a bald eagle sitting on the lake shore, we saw lots of ducks and duck babies. It was wonderful

Sage did very well. Each trail ride is better. She got a little nervous at a couple of rocks that wanted to eat her. We crossed the top of a little dam over the end of the lake. She went over it going but coming back she wasn't so sure. Also there is one pretty steep little trail, not long at all. It is really down through some brushy area and she could not see the trail. Once she started down she was fine. It was by far the best and most relaxed ride I have had on her.

Since I was on, our son Tom has moved in next door with his family. We love it. They can help and we can leave for a while and know our animals are taken care of.

We have not sold Chico and he looks awful. Ditto has been in a pen next to him and we put her out on pasture and he has run himself bad calling and calling. It is pathetic to watch. He has rubbed hair off in places from hitting the fence. I don't know what we are going to do. We really need to sell him. I hate him looking this way.

We have had six calves born and one still to go. Four red ones and two black ones. Abe,Bell, Claire, Danny, Easy and Fritz. We bought Gracie and she is at Shannons living on goat milk. We bought a bull and his name is Hank the Tank. A nice looking hereford bulls.

Oh, I really hope I will be able to get back on here. Missed hearing from you all. I love comments.

Blessings to each and every one of you.

My face is pretty much healed up. My nose is still a little tender. 4 more weeks before I can do anything where I might hit my face. I am not doing yoga any more. I am afraid of getting hurt more. Instead I am riding the recumbant bike for half an hour, then I swim for half an hour and then sit in the hot tub 10 minutes, 3x a week. That is my exercise routine.

Poor Sage feels so neglected. We have been over in Marysville with our oldest daughter and in Everett with our younger daughter. It was SO good to see my girls. We came home to a foot of snow on the ground and Sage just stands and looks at the house. I had so much to do today that Icould not get out.

We have our second baby calf. She is named Belle and is red like Abe. The third one should be here very soon. This snow storm has really made us concerned.

This has not been a good month. I will be glad for March to arrive. First of all an old friend died up in Oroville. We showed horses together. Then a friend over in Hayden, ID died. His wife is who I got my new saddle from. Then last weekend my cousin who we were close to died. I think a Pulmunary failure but I will miss Donna. Then, still reeling from that our dear dear old friend from church that everyone call Grandma died. This is a little much. All but Donna was elderly and 2 had cancer but still.......its tough.

So maybe I will have the picture thingy fixed pretty soon.

Blessings,Lea and her Mustangshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10081978031741002235noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1849393342737666986.post-31771513020087453412014-02-11T16:38:00.000-08:002014-02-11T16:38:42.930-08:00

I know I have been gone for a while. First just life gets in the way of things I want to do. The dark days of winter are very difficult for me. I find myself in a big slump that gets bigger as the dark days go on. Now with 5 or 6 inches of snow on the ground its been worse. However, we had some surprise sun today. I did get outside for a bit. That helps.

Secondly, while at the Yoga class I have been going to, I got suddenly very dizzy and fell flat on my face. I think I might have passed out, I don't know but I know I could not move for a bit and my nose was bleeding like a faucet. No one could have better friends than Lisa and Jen who got me up and out of the room. Lisa went back and cleaned up the mess. I was very embarrassed, I did not go straight to the doctor and I should have. When Bob forced me to go because I was vomiting one time after the other for 2 days. I have a concussion - surprise - but nothing is broken. They gave me something for the nausea and that really helped. Today is the first day I have not had to take it at any time. I lost a few pounds not eating but I am sure it will come back.

Tomorrow I lead the Bible Study and Bob won't turn me lose with the car so he will drive me. Bless his heart. We girls have a good time studying, crying, and laughing together.

The picture is Rusty. She wanted more carrots. I took a handful of carrots for the rest of the horses and 2 big apples for my Princess Sage. If I was all over from the thunking of my head I would have ridden her today. But, Bob was not home and I think he might have gotten upset to come home and find me on her back. Soon though, SOON.

I hope I can keep up better with this page. Still am having trouble with picturess. Need a grandson to come and spend the day. Blessings.

I sure do wish I could get the pictures off my camera. It is so beautiful out. Frozen fog heavy on the trees, fences and everywhere it seems. It looks magical but of course it isn't. We don't have any fog directly at our place but have. Trees are breaking under the weight of it. It is pretty though.

I just came in from playing with Sage for a bit and giving Rosie a treat. Sage likes apples and Rosie will eat carrots. They got one of each. I need to catch Sage up and work with her but everything is still covered in ice or the ground frozen until it hurts their feet. So until that lets up its an apple a day. She loves them.

Bob has begun working with Rusty again. AGAIN. He needs to keep it up. He wants to use her to pack this year. She is short enough that it will be easy to load. She and Rosie are about the same height and Rosie loves to pack. Not as much as pulling a cart but she likes it if the lead horse is not going so fast that she has to trot all the time. Pepper is a good one to lead off of. He is pokey.

I went to Ellensburg on Saturday to a Washington State Horsemen board meeting. It was a foggy drive but I really enjoy that group of equestrians. Because I retired as a show steward this year, they presented me with a beautiful plaque. I was so surprised and appreciated it lots. It was good of them and I had no idea.

I retired from being a steward because it was time to explore other things. I liked it when I was doing it but it was time to move on. I enjoy trail riding and enjoy the business part of WSH. There are great people from all over the state involved.

I got hearing aids last week. They may drive me nutty until I get used to them. I have trouble getting them into my ear with the little doo dad that keeps them there in the right place. I was surprised the batteries don't last as long as I thought. I really needed them, more that I really thought. I knew my hearing was getting dim but not as much as it tested. Thank God for good insurance that paid for most of them.

Well, well, there will be no pictures for a while unless I can find some older ones. My printer died, won't work at all now so have no way to read the camera card. I should get a new printer in the next week or so however.

We are having a windstorm of all windstorms. Since yesterday it has blown up to 70 mph here constantly. We got some rain yesterday but now because the ground is frozen, we have standing water all over the place. The arena is one large lake, there is a pond on the other side close to running into Ditto's pen. May have to move her. I think we will have to move Sage and Rosie tomorrow. Its awful, then I suppose it will freeze and snow and we will be in a real fix.

So that is my worry. We had our Northeast Zone awards function for 2013 today. We had an awesome turnout. It was a light lunch and cake for $10.00. It brought a lot more people that usual. I know some people were disappointed we did not have a banquet but it turned out good. It was certainly worth it. I don't show any more but stay involved in the zone. I enjoy being with horsey friends whatever they do with their horses.

I sure am missing my girls. I know we just saw them at Christmas but both are going through some trials and I want to hug on them. Our boys live in Spokane but have not seen them longer. Work schedules are a pain when mama's want to see their chilluns.

Take care,

Blessings

I guess if I wait until I have pictures to post, they will all be antiquie. (Is that a word?) I can not get my card reader to read my card and put the pictures on here.

So we had a wonderful Christmas at our daughters homes. We went to Everett on Monday to stay with Chrissy and to see Nikki in Marysville. We had Christmas day at Nikki's with all her boys and their families. It was a wonderful day. I hated that they all had to work up to Christmas and then the days after but we had evenings and the 26th. Bob and I spent most of the day driving and moseying around the Everett waterfront. The Aircraft Carrier USS Nimitz is in and was sitting in the harbor. It was an awesome sight for sure. I can not imagine airplanes landing and taking off on it though.

We were so amazed that there was no snow up on Snoqualmie Pass. The ski slopes were mostly brown dirt, no snow to speak of. I feel bad for the people who depend on the snow for their living in the winter.

We came home on Friday, dry roads all the way. Loved being with family but it is always good to be home.

New Years Eve was spent quietly at home. I watched horse training video's until 11:30. Woke Bob up from the couch, took carrots out to the horses and came in in time to kiss Bob Happy New Year and to fall into bed. New Years Day was just like any other day.

Line dancing classes start up tomorrow. It will keep me with some exercise and Tuesday I am going to start Yoga classes with my friend Lisa. We neither have done it before but it sounds like something I can do. She has Fibermyalgia so it should help us both.

Next week I am going to start teaching a Bible Study. I have not done it for a while but love it and it keeps my mind active. We are going to do a study called Stuck. Its about the things in ourselves that keep us from moving ahead spiritually and emotionally. It looks very good, for the gals and the teacher too. It is not a study at church, just some gals who want a bible study. They go to different churches I think. I am excited to do that too.

So that is our life over the holidays and up to date. Can't ride, its too icy but take carrots and apples out to the horses. They come hurrying when I go out.

So lest you think I ran off somewhere, no just no pictures and keep trying to figure it out.

Blessings,
My beautiful saddle. It is new to me. I love it and it fits both Sage and I to a T. It is a Circle Y Equitation Seat saddle. It is not only the nicest saddle I have ever had but the most comfortable one. It is little heavier than my old one but I usually can manage to get it on my big girl.

Our sunset tonight was breathtaking. It was red as if the entire sky was on fire. We have awesome sunsets here but this has to have been my favorite.

Today I finished my shopping. I got my eyebrows done, baked 2 loaves of zucchini bread and took a good long nap. My feet hurt, not the one from my crash landing, well it hurt but not because of that and the other hurt too. They are getting old. The rest of me is fine.

We have the funniest Christmas tree. I had it decorated nicely and ornaments started disappearing. I blamed Tazzy but found them, and continued to find them under the rug on my side of the bed. And then I caught River dismantling the tree and then trying to pull it. I got after her but she kept doing it until nothing is left on the bottom half. She did chew some but mostly just took them off and hit them. Then, it occurred to me we had moved her bed to put the tree there and she does not like it where I put it. I don't think she has gotten into it twice. I have to laugh but I don't like my funny tree. If I put them back on, she takes them off. So, everything is on the top half and she is still pouting. And they say stupid animals?

Tomorrow, I am going to try really hard to get a ride in. Poor Sage must feel like I have deserted her.

If there are typos in my blogs, I mostly know when I am done but my silly computer won't let me fix them so I try really hard to do it right the first time.

Our two little dogs. Skeeter, the poodle, is mine. He is 61/2 years old and devoted to me. I should have brushed his ears. Pistol is the Jack Russell cross and she is Bob's. When he goes some place without her, she grieves. When Bob went hunting she did not eat for several days and just laid around crying. It was pathetic. We love those little dogs. If you have been to our house they are our greeting committee.

No snow or ice at our house. Bob took a friend to the airport this morning at 4:00 AM and he said it was all around us but we were spared. Bob got the tires changed on the truck today so it will be ready to go when we leave for Nikki and Chrissy's on the 22nd. I am glad we are not going tomorrow as the Snoqualemie Pass will be closed for 3 hours or so both directions.

I am thankful our kids have jobs but it certainly makes it difficult to have a family get together. They all work different hours and have different days off. Instead of coming here, we are going to Tom and Christy's on Thursday for an evening. Then we will go to Ryan's percussion concert at Rogers.

The horses are all looking good. The cold cold weather did not faze them and now its mild. By Monday it is supposed to be close to 40 and I am planning to ride. If there is snow that is OK but not ice. I need to remember to take a picture of my new saddle. Love it so much.

Somehow I had gotten the zip code wrong and instead of going to Tennessee it went to Florida. I was very frustrated and said I would not use the post office this year. I didn't but the UPS lady found my error. So it was not the Post Office's fault. I need to apologize for the ugly things I said about them.

Now come the hard part and that is wrapping it all. I am not a good gift wrapper upper. I would just leave them in the plastic sacks.
