Progress

Today I got a saddle pad on Sage and she just let me put it on. I had her smell it and lay it against her shoulder and then on her back and it was no really big deal for her. I was so excited.
I put my step stool up beside her and moved that saddle pad around and layed on it and I wanted to go get a saddle but would be rushing things big time. I want to be riding her so bad.

Bob made big progress with Emma too. She let him rub her shoulder. So, it was a good day.

This evening our granddaughter Sheya came to spend a few days with us and to go to Marysville to a family reunion. We will leave about noon tomorrow.

We had a dust storm of sorts blow through today and I am snorting and sneezing dirt. I hate that.

More things I am thankful for.

Handrails

Steve finished the front porch hand rails this morning. I love it. Bob had the idea and Steve said he could do it. And he did. Now the front of the house is all done.
We have to go to Couer D'Alene this evening so this is an early entry. I spent the morning in Davenport taking care of some business. Then came home, had lunch and took a nap. Tomorrow should be a better day. Not bad today, just tedious.

Calico Acres Farm

Steve finished the front door onto the porch today with our brand. Pretty cool huh.
Bob worked Emma some more today. Touching is not her favorite thing. She comes face to face with him but don't touch please. I don't have pictures because the battery died. I knew it was going to and it did.
I did some things with Sage this evening after it cooled down too. She is getting more relaxed all the time. Its just been too hot to do anything in the middle of the day. I have been going in and touching and handling her every day but not really working.

Just a few of the tomatoes that are coming. I certainly hope that some of them get ripe so we can eat them.

Nikki, if you look at this, please show these potato plants to Lane. He wanted to plant them when he was here. I told him where to plant them and he did. They are growing like mad.
Just ran errands today. Had the car serviced. I was going to have it washed but Bob is going to drive it for his work tomorrow so I didn't. Went and got some calf food and some fly spray for the horses. Tomorrow Steve is going to get the hand rails for the front porch done. He did some finishing out there today and then repaired a pipe that broke out in the pasture.
Hope you had a great weekend.
Blessings

Touches Me and Metal

Bob got camera happy just before I left for church. He had to go to a class for his Search and Rescue group. It was a good day at church and the message was awesome. Don't forget to pass on the good things in our lives to our children and grandchildren.
Bob was working with Emma and Pepper was waiting for him to get to the part where he rode him. So he was eating weeds.

See his little black nose peeking under the bottom panel?

Emma and Bob had a big break through today. She leads with just the rope around her neck where ever he wants and with just the slightest pressure walked right up to him. He touched her face and she let him.

He led her right up to me. Look at the sun on her mane. Spun gold.

Snow Kitty. I think we will be able to find her a home because she doesn't mind being handled.

Pistol in the toy basket taking a rest. She is doing pretty well. I don't like her name yet but that's it. Oh Well.

The Sunday Stills is metal. That is our horse trailer. Love that trailer. We bought it off ebay a few years ago for a really good price. It was in Pueblo, Colorado. Bob and his friend Bernie went to get it.
So a few more of my list of things to be thankful for. Day 2 of listing.

12 miles

We had a great trail ride today on the Marie Creek Trail just out of Couer d'Alene, Idaho back up in the hills behind Wolf Creek Lodge. Katie turned around so I didn't have a picture of her back. She rode Raven because she did not get around to having a coggins done on Abby. That was OK. Raven loves to go.
The sign where we go up the trail where it gets a little dicey if you are not used to riding narrow trails with a lot of switch backs. Poor Bea, she got so scared. I felt bad for her.

Bea's friend who came and rode with us. I did not catch her name and that is embarrassing.

Bea riding her mustang Cody. He would have done a little better if she would not have been so scared. She was shaking like a leaf.

Anyway it was a good day. Got a little warmer than comfortable but we all made it.
One of my blogger friends has started out with 1000 things she is thankful for and has challenged us to do the same. I will start with a few tonight and go on to others another night.
