Hurry one place to another

Still no camera but Bob brought his little one in for me to use. My camera is now in the shop to be repaired over in Couer D'Alene. No one I could find around Spokane to repair it. Huppins gave me two names and both places were closed. They were not anxious to help me any more. I stopped in a Walgreens and asked the photography area who they tell people when they get asked. He opened up the phone book and found me a couple. One guy never called me back but the other was in Idaho and I was already half way there. It will be back in time to take to MS and TN. Its expensive but so was the camera and I have more than one lens and it is worth it.

Bonnie came out and worked with Cody today. She was here for a long time. He loves her so much. Rusty was very jealous. I laughed at her.

We had a strange young steer show up today. He was in with the horses. How he got there is a puzzle but there he was. The fences are all up. He was tired and hungry. We, with Bonnie's help got him into the round pen with hay and water. Bob drove around and found the people who own him. They will leave him here this week and bring him hay. He has been gone two days. We have been hearing him but could not see him. He was just weaned so was looking for a mom. I am glad he did not get into where our cows are. Both are getting ready to calve and he would have nursed and there would have gone babies colostrum.

Today was spent on the camera. Bob is off tomorrow. We will get stuff done then. Maybe we will even sneak in a little ride. Who knows although it is supposed to rain.

Maybe I will even practice a little with Bob's camera. Two days and then it will be Thursday. I am getting so excited inside. Bob is laughing at me, I am not laughing.

May your belly never grumble
May your heart never ache
May your horse never stumble,
May your cinch never break.
Cowboy blessing.

Marie Creek

Another day with no camera. Sigh. We left home about 8 for the Marie Creek trailhead which is just east of Couer D'Alene. We were the last trailer to arrive but we were earlier than the time posted on the internet. We left in the second group out. The guys were armed with chain saws, pulaskis and stuff. I was at the tail end so I got to hold horses. We (meaning the guys, I was holding horses remember)repaired the trail as it needed and sawed trees out that had fallen on the trail. We took a while. The trail was a mess with wash outs and trees over the trail from the bad winds we have been having. At the Switch Wish intersection of 3 trails Bob and I decided to go back the way we came instead of going over the top. It was about 5 miles back and 10 over the top. After riding yesterday today was almost too much. We made it though and had a wonderful time. We had lunch by the creek.

Wendy tried to fix my camera but nothing worked. I will take it to Huppins tomorrow. They were not open today even if I had been able to get back in time to get it in there. I have a routine doctor appointment tomorrow morning and then will hit downtown.

4 days till Sage. It better be right this time. I am frustrated. Have got to have a camera by then. GOT TO GOT TO.

Have a happy Monday

Trail Ride Saturday

There are no pictures, no pictures because my camera would not work. It just flashes error. I got so upset. I thought well Andrea will have her camera and hers died at about 4 pictures. Mary had hers in her truck. We did get a picture of the group of us however she has not sent it to me yet. Good grief and I wanted pictures really bad.

We did have a wonderful ride. Mary had a little problem in the first 10 minutes but then her beautiful black mare did just fine. There were six of us and we had a wonderful ride - all of us on mustangs too. Pepper was good but I didn't go through any water either. I found out that the riding pants I bought this past week were wonderful. They are very comfy. I am not sure the spurs did any good except make Pepper keep up. That was a good thing.

We were (are) going on a ride tomorrow unless it snows. That is predicted. If there is snow on the ground here there will be a lot of snow over there. Darn.

Have a great Sunday.

Some sun, More windf

Not much to post. I am going to bed early to prepare for our trail ride tomorrow. Its going to be nicer but not warm tomorrow. I have enough clothes laid out to keep warm though.
]
A funny story about the old mares and the two donkeys who are in a small pasture together. The old mares have been getting Alfalfa hay and the donks get grass. They found out they were missing out on the alfalfa. They tried running off the mares but nothing to do. So we decided rather than have them do something silly and not eat their hay, that we would just give them all grass. Well this evening when I fed I put the hay in each of their places to eat. The girls went to eating. They didn't mind having that good grass hay but the donkeys kept trying to get their hay because they thought they still had alfalfa. They would not eat theirs so the mares ate their own and then left the scraps for Chemmy and Yuma and went and ate the donkeys hay. I had to laugh. Silly critters.

Hope to have pictures tomorrow from our ride. Have a peaceful Saturday.

Wind and hail - Hail and wind

Today my pictures are of our weather. Like I said Hail and Wind, Wind and Hail depending on what minute it was. This is the hail coming down just after I left that tack store purchasing some riding pants like Marilyn loaned me when I took my dip last month. I also got some socks that are microfiber. I hope I will be warmer and I will have dry clothes in my pack bag on the saddle with me. Won't be caught like that again.
Looking out the windshield. Mercy but I am ready for some warm weather. A month from Monday and I leave for Mississippi and Tennessee for a couple of weeks. It is warm there. Both places should have their pools open. Woopee.

The trees by the side of our place. A lot of the branches are all over. As well a garbage sack of pop cans and our trampoline. Its on its side, half of the legs came off. I think the wind picked it up. There will be a mess to clean up this weekend. Well, we have rides planned both days. Got to do it when you can.
Saturday is our Mustang Horse Club ride and Sunday is our Panhandle Back Country Horsemen ride at Marie Creek outside of Coeur D'Alene. I love riding there. Our ride Saturday is at Riverside State Park outside Spokane. I hope I can get out of bed Monday morning. I have a doctor appointment Monday. Nothing wrong, just need to check my meds. I am going to see if I can eliminate some of them.
So happy tomorrow. Friday is always a good day.

A BETTER DAY

I sat down on the ground and was hoping Rusty might come up to me but alas, she has not changed her mind about me. This is Rusty and Cody. Rusty did follow me to the gate as long as I didn't look at her. What a girl.
One of our barn kitties hanging out in the wall. Her name is Phantom. She spends a lot of her time in that wall. She is very timid and I don't think we have ever gotten to touch her.

Our Katie and her dog Lucky cleaning stalls today. This is how she works off her board. They are all stripped good and the horses aren't coming in at night any more. Bob has to dig up Amelia's because there is a water leak under it. It is standing water and we have not had that much rain. Anyway, that is not the stall that floods. She and Ditto are out with the donks and Pepper and Wrangler are sharing a pen. It will soon be time to let them out on the pasture parts of the day.
I am back to 6 days before Sage. Darn darn darn but this will really be better. Bob can be home and that is really important to me and I can go on the Mustang Horse Club ride on Saturday morning. Tomorrow I must go clean my saddle. It still has mud on it. Also Bob told me to go tomorrow and find some riding clothes that are not cotton. I like riding in jeans but when wet they do not help. I will go do that. I don't think there is water anywhere that we will be riding but I learned to go prepared.
I wrote an article for the Back Country Horsemen newsletter about hypothermia so I am going to practice what I preach. Not ignore what Bob taught at the meeting a few weeks before my big splash.
When you're young and you fall off a horse, you may break something. When you're my age and you fall off, you splatter.

Blah

A nothing day. Nothing to post. I did get the insurance for Mustang Days. Now we are all set to go. We can get down to business now. I am looking forward to the meeting at the end of the month.

Tracey said she had heard maybe the horses won't be here this weekend and I am about to blow a gasket. If not I will get to go on the Mustang Club ride, but I would rather greet my horse.

Till tomorrow
