When will the wind go away

Day 4 of the May Photo Challenge - I ate this was the theme of the day.
See where the rope is broken. I could have easily lost her last night. Made me sick to my stomach. Some time early this morning she got her rope around the pole in the middle of her pen. It is holding up the roof. Her rope was not so long that I had worried about that. She had panicked with her head low and struggled until the rope broke. When Bob went down there about 5:30 this AM. She was standing there shaking. Her neck seems a little sore and she was touchy about it. I wanted to check her poll where the halter was but she would not have that today. I scratched her good side and she let me pet her but she was leery of it and was wanting to leave all the time. She did let me scratch her bad side more today but when I got too close she had to leave. I tried to take the the snap off her halter but that was a no no too today. The scratch marks on her shoulder were from the stick and me scratching. It was still pretty windy today and that makes her spooky too. I feel so bad about her hurting herself even a little bit.

A baby face. They are getting cuter. Never can get a picture when mom's aren't there. I don't think they know whose are whose.
The wind today was better than yesterday but blew today consistently about 24 mph. It is supposed to go down to 29 tonight. This morning when I went down to water the critters it had frozen and the hoses were all froze. Sage needed water and the chickens needed water too. It took me a while to get the hoses running. There was a quarter of an inch on the tubs that had automatic waterers on them and the waterers were frozen. Everything got watered this evening so I won't run into that tomorrow. Its May, why?
Am beginning to get my suitcase packed. A week from now I will be in Mississippi. Two weeks from now I will be in Tennessee with my sister. 3 weeks from tomorrow I will be back home. I hope all their storms are over and its really warm. I am ready.
My bed is calling.
Blessings.

65 mph Wind

The picture of the day was Down Low. The first picture that came to my mind was the picture of Sages large feet. So that's my picture of the day.
No other pictures today. The wind blew today. Did it blow. I seems to be dieing down some now but it blew up to 65 MPH. Tomorrow we will have to go out and see what damage happened today on the farm and pick up all the stuff the blew in. Things are a mess out there.
A tarp blew in from somewhere, not ours. I know the cow shed roof is half off.
Bob started a new shift today. Noon until 9. I don't like it much. I don't know what he will do about chores or the dogs while I am in Mississippi and Tennessee. He will figure it out I am sure. I leave a week from tomorrow.
Most of today was spent wrapped in a blanket reading. A perfect day for that.
Blessings

Quite a relaxing Sunday

May 2nd Photo Challenge picture - Broken. It is isn't it. The snow took it down winter before last when we had 82 inches of snow.
The wind was pretty brisk this afternoon and it made Sage pretty jittery. I was blowing things around and shaking the roof. In the picture I am rubbing the stick on her "bad" side. She likes it once I got her to let me over there. I could have touched her on that side if the wind had not been blowing and causing a commotion. She gets better every day when I go in with her. She went a little nutsy at first but now she just looks at me. Bob is still the one working with her and the rope. She gets pretty belligerent sometimes with the rope.

Lindy is doing a little better I think. She still is pretty lame. She really likes attention. The round pen is much more pleasing to her than the stall.

A puddle of baby kitties. Neither mom was there when I went to take the picture but as soon as she hear me she was there in seconds and telling me to keep hands off.
I went to church this morning and then took myself to breakfast at the European Breakfast Hause. There were a lot of people waiting ahead of me but because I was along they asked if I would like to sit at the coffee bar. I told the man if I could eat there and he said I could so I got right in.
When I got home I took a nap and lazed around the rest of the day. Bob got home and he came down to take some pictures of me with Sage. We did chores and then he went to pick up a couple of steers.
Have a good day tomorrow
Blessings.

Lots of babies

This is my picture for May 1 photo challenge. The word was sign.

This is our new baby born about 4 this afternoon. Is nameless yet because I don't know if its a he or a she. The white is its tail. Everything else is black. Very cute. Bob also bough a black and white steer calf to put on Candy along with Snickers. I named him Licorice. Now if she just will take him along with Snickers we will all be happy. For some reason the picture of him would not upload to the blog. Oh well.

The kitty babies and mom. Fluffy gets mad when we look in there at them. There is a little white one crawling up Fancy's back.

Our weather was goofy today. Rain hail and sun. Sometimes all in a five minute period. It even thundered this afternoon late. I love rainbows. They remind me of God's love for us.
For those in the mustang club, I got ahold of George today and he will come do the two hour demo on the 26th. I think that's the date of the demo's anyway. His horse was done in 6 weeks I asked him several times and he said he swore it was. And the horse is from South Steens and is 15 hands tall. For all who don't know what I am talking about this guy is up in Colville. He sent me a dvd of his horse. It is utterly amazing the things he did in that amount of time with that horse. He will do the demo at Mustang Days which is the last weekend in June at Busy Bee Equestrian Center. Put it on your calendars.
I hope you all saw that Andrea from Mustang Saga won the April giveaway. I haven't quite got the box ready but will have it ready soon.
Have a blessed Sunday

Naughty Girl

I was so glad that Katie was here to take a picture of a real two armed hug around her neck. In two weeks and one day. She just relaxes and leans into me.

I tried really had today to get on her other side but nothing doing. I was scratching and rubbing her neck on both sides, she dropped her head lower and lower until her nose was even with my thigh. She was trying to rub on me but I moved away a bit and she kept trying to rub on my leg and she bit me. A big bite. I have a large bite shaped bruise on my thigh. I don't think she meant to hurt me I think she was doing a horse thing and going to scratch my leg. Horses do that with their teeth to one another. I jumped back and yelled and waved my arms and told her that was bad and I left her to think about it and came to the house to look at my leg. We will get back at it tomorrow but I will watch her mouth for sure.

Katie working with Liberty. She just needs reminding of all those things she learned with Tyler. Such a good horse.

The two mamas. Fancy had 5 babies too so there are 10 babies in that same nest. The mama's just stay there cuddled up together. I have never seen anything like it. Has anyone else seen that?
I went and got my hair cut this evening. I sure like it and my head feels 10 pounds lighter. Now to see if I can make it look nice like this on my own. Just could not stand the headache causing long hair. Braiding it was my aim but just could not stand it. Bob is worrying that it won't help my headaches and my hair will be gone. They will go though, every time I get my hair about that long the headaches start.
If any of you are not on Facebook and see the Nikki wants to have a photo challenge. A photo a day for the month of May. The first word is sign. I know what I am going to photograph. Not telling either. LOL. I will post it tomorrow.
Hope your First day of May is an awesome day.
Blessings.

Kitties kitties everywhere

This is what Bob found when he went to the barn this morning. There are five babies cuddled under all that fluff. This is Fluffy.
These are Fluffy's babies.

And this is what we found this evening. These two sisters were dumped off here when they could barely toddle. Now they have babies in the same nest. Have never seen anything like it. Bob went to water the donks and wanted to check on Fluffy and her gang and this is what he found. Fancy is the smaller of the two and her babies are in there too. Is that not a picture?
We had our Mustang Club meeting tonight. A very good meeting. Anyone want to make a donation of a saddle for high point. I got made fun of by Bob for thinking so big. Maybe a belt buckle or a breast collar. Anything really. I am so encouraged that everyone is pitching in and wants to help. YaY all of you.,
Remember tonight and tomorrow night are the end of my give away. I will give the winner Saturday the 1st. Thanks to all who have commented. And Thanks to everyone who read this little gabfest and don't comment. I know you are there because I see the count rising.
Sage was good today. Andrea and Laura came to visit her and she is not overly fond of visitors. Most days it is just she and I and that is what she is used to. Mary is coming on Monday to visit so she had better get used to it. Katie is coming out to work horses tomorrow so she will be putzing around and that will be good for her.l
Thats it for today.
Blessings.
