A few days I was on a rant about a letting in the Spokesman Review that offended me. Ultimately i did write a response and it was pulished. Bob wrote one also in case mine was not published and I would like to print it here.
L Moffats leter concerning the wild horses is a heart felt concern. The problem is, it is heart felt. Unfortantely it is a lot more comlicated that that. The wild horse is a ferral animal, not a natie species.
The horse will eat grass as close to the ground as a sheep where they are limited by the area let to them by private land, population ect. They have to be limited in number to remain as healthy as she saw them.
Where cows are allowed on grazing leases they are monitored and removed before they Can over graze an area. Before the late l970's the feral horses were considered a nuisance and were shot, captured for dog food or rounded up, herded into a pit and shot and buried.
BLM's mandate to regulate this is not perfect for every horse or for us the tax payer who support it. But it sure beats their fate in the past.
Please let people use common sense and science instead of just the heart. I am 72 years sol and feed 10 mustangs every night and morning. How many will L. Moffat like a her home.

I figured it out
Sage being led to the round pen. She was mincing along on ice.
A really unexciting (is that a word?) day. We went to church, had our maple bar on the way home and just layed around all day. I took a nap and that's about it. I must get to some things tomorrow. Its really cold out. It is supposed to be about 10 tonight. I don't mind if I don't have to be outside in it.
Blessings on this Sunday evening -

Printer help needed again
Katie helped me get the pictures off of the card out of my camera but I either have forgotten or something or other. Have some pictures I wanted to share but I can't get them off.
I haven't been anywhere for the last couple of days, just raining out and making a big mess and that is depressing and I didn't want to just gripe. So, I just stayed away.
Not much better today, just aggravated about the printer. The good things that matter to me anyway is Eastern Washington University won the national title last night beating Delaware by one point. It is the Division one NCAA. Their very first national title. Was so proud of them and then today the Seahawks beat New Orleans when no one said they could. Such a game. Hope they get to play Chicago but it will be a tough game whomever. Then, Gonzaga Basketball is on and the Zags are beating Portland by a sizable margin. If you're not a sports fan, just ignore that all.
Laura and Alexa came over today and we went to look at Sage. She was a little concerned about new faces but let me rub all over her face and rub her back. It is too icey to do much else. After the rain now it is freezing solid. Still quite a bit of snow so if we get more, it will back to the sleigh with Rosie.
Maybe pictures tomorrow. Blessings.

More Snow but fun
The hugging donkey. Chemmy loves to be cuddled.
Bob and I coming around the barn. It was so fun.
One of the reasons I had to sled out today, other than its fun, is a friend of Katie's is fighting breast cancer. She lives in the area and wanted to ride in the sleigh really bad. So she got her ride. She had chemo yesterday and had a hard time getting in and out but I was so happy to make her day brighter.
Other than that, we had fun with Cameron and Katie and our neighbor Theresa. Love it when people come by.
Not a whole lot going on. It is supposed to rain tonight and I hate that. It makes things so sloggy and messy. Then one digit cold again and more snow.
Blessings.

Pictures at last
The birthday boy. I may be prejudice but I thing he is really one handsome little dude.
Out the dining room window. Snow was coming off the roof. When it comes off it makes a big noise and the dogs go nutty.
It was a fun day. I slept in some because I was awake in the middle of the night. I am reading and journaling a book called The Relationship Principles of Jesus. Such a good book, it takes me a little time to do it but I am enjoying it. It will take 40 days to do it if I work on it every day. The very first principle it talks about it Place the Highest Value on Relationships. I am starting the 4th. principle tomorrow. Every principle is more than one chapter. I try to do a chapter a day.
Driving Rosie was so good. I felt like I was flying across the snow. Just wrapped in a warm blanket, pulled my had down over my ears and away we flew.Tom waxed the runners on the sleigh Christmas.
Hope you had a good day. Blessings

Donkey Hugs
Still no pictures. I am getting frustrated. Katie is coming tomorrow to see if she can help me figure it out. I have pictures of Nathaniels birthday party and Sage and our beautiful weather still just on my cameras. So, just me again today.
This afternoon Bob was trimming the donkeys feet. Yuma stand there about asleep. Chemmy wants company and then he stands. If you stand and put your arm over his neck like a hug, he turns his head around and hugs you back. We stood there hugging and Bob did all his feet. It was really funny. I talked into his long ear and we had a hugging good time while Bob trimmed his feet. Donkeys are so sweet.
I think we are going to call Emma's owner and have him come get her. I don't know what he will do with her, she is lovely to look at but no matter what we try she is anti social and just does not settle down. We have tried 6 months and Shannon had her a month and she just won't let us near her. She is going to hurt someone and I don't want it to be one of us. Have never had a horse that would not accept us at all. Wranglers mom Sandy was almost as bad but she was okay for a few days and then just explode and deliberately try to hurt us. Don't quite know what to do with Emma but she is not ours so I guess its up to her owner. Makes me sad but enough is enough. She almost hurt Bob today, it was like she had never been worked before.
Sage is doing good. Just lead her around some more. Back to the bag again maybe tomorrow. I think I am not doing it just right. If it were spring it would be easier.
Blessings
