Our boys are gone, I am sad

Yesterday Nikki, Bob and I went for about a 3 1/2 hr. ride. We had such a good time. This picture was taken over my shoulder just before he tossed a pine cone at my back and missed and hit Raven on the rear. Had just a little rodeo. He thought it was funny, I didn't.
Nikki riding Pepper. She was behind on Pepper which is where he usually is. Oh but we had fun. We saw deer, hikers and other horse back riders. We laughed and talked.

Nikki's little dog Scout. She is so attached to Nikki. We had gotten home and had showers and sat down and Scout has such a look of satisfaction of "Mom's home" on her little face.

Today Nikki and Isaac went on a ride across the road in the big field. Isaac thought he was quite the cowboy.

Lane finding bugs. That is his entire life.

Nikki and Isaac off on their ride.

Lane

Mom and her baby boy home from their ride.

Chemmy looking for "his friend".

Isaac riding Chemmy. He has such a good time with the donks. Isaac fell off and landed on his bottom. He laughed about it and was not hurt at all.

Lane taking his turn. He is just not a riding person but he could not be outdone. He did a really good job.

Bob taking his turn. Good ole Chemmy didn't mind at all.

Happy birthday Uncle Lyle. He turned 95 today. Hope he had a wonderful, blessed day.

We will miss our little boys. I am going to try to find a pair of size 3 western riding boots for Isaac. And then a pair of kids spurs. I don't care if they are used boots.

I hope your weekend was as good as ours. I miss Nikki so much and its always good to have them come, even if its for such a short time.

Blessings

Hot and Windy Day

Yesterday Isaac rode Rosie all over. I was a bad Grandma. I kept him covered with sunscreen but forgot his legs. They got quite red.

Isaac and Sheya, my little horse lovers, riding in the arena. Its not too much of an arena this year but gives them a confined, sort of, area to ride. They wanted to go down the road. I don't think so. Maybe at some point but not yet. When I was their age I rode my horse all over the neighborhood. A different age though.

Doing circles around the barrels.

I needed to tell him to drop his heels and he will have to graduate to the next up saddle. I am glad we have two smaller saddles.

Isaac riding this morning. It was very hot and he didn't ride as long as yesterday.

Somehow a duplicate

Poppy's in the front yard.

Miss Sheya and Pepper

I don't remember what these are but they came back this year. So cheerful.

My sweet boy and my sweet pony.

Pistol going for a swim but they can't get out on their own. It had to feel good. It was over 90 yesterday.

The boys parents will be here tomorrow and they are going home Sunday. I will miss them terribly and so will Rosie and Chemmy.

Two plus three equal 5

Sheya riding the bucking donkey. She held on and he bucked. Then he stopped and she slid off. I told her she is my cowgirl.
She just hopped up on him. He was trying to eat supper though. That is why he got a little upset with her.

Ryan and Grandpa working and Sheya was telling them about her exciting ride.

Our swallows in the barn. There are several nests. They really keep the bugs down.

Isaac, Sheya and Seth bringing Liberty in. She prefers to stay out.

Wrangler just came right up to me when he came in. I think he thought I had a treat. I didn't.

Bob went to get Lane and Isaac and ended up with Ryan, Seth and Sheya also. They are going to sleep out on the lawn tonight in back. Good kids all of them.

Hppy Birthday Americaq

This is what Bob did today. He mowed hay. Each run was half a mile long so over and back was a mile. He is doing that in exchange for hay. I spent the day visiting with his wife. It was a great day. Not too hot but bright and shiny.

When Hazel was a day old I posted pictures of her. She is very friendly now and I was trying to get a picture of her. She wanted to taste my camera.

Such sweet little ears.

And one of the dozens of deer we saw on the way home. There were fireworks going off all over and they were really spooky.

We had a typical Fourth of July dinner - hamburgers, potato salad and baked beans. And watermelon. It was a fun day. The boys are still at Tom's. They will be home tomorrow.

Blessings, and God Bless America

Quiet

Doesn't Lane look like he is excited about going to church. Oh well, he went and he sat quietly. He knew some of the songs but didn't sing. Isaac did. Lane sang when we got back into the car.
We took Lane and Isaac over to their Uncle Tom's to play with his cousins for a day or so. It certainly made the house quiet. And, I fed Isaac's donkeys for him.

A quiet Sunday at least for me. I took a nap and Bob went after a load of hay. There is a little wind blowing but it was warm. Hope your day was warm and wonderful.

Sages First Bath

Because it was 80 today I thought it was a good opportunity to introduce Sage to the hose and water. She freaked out a little at the beginning but did well until the water hit the barn and she really wigged out then so wed did it over and over until she quit. Did not soap her up, just water this time and then she stood there until she was dry so she wouldn't go out in her pen and roll in the dirt. Have never seen her roll but I am reasonable certain that if she had been wet, I would have witnessed it.

Lane helping with pouring the sand mixture onto where we are making a new patio. He worked really hard for a warm day.

Isaac putting the horses off the grass. He did it by himself. Liberty was not as anxious to comply as the others but her persisted. It was hot today but not overbearing. It just felt good.

Blessings.
