Lord, if this is a test, I flunked

Just a couple of snow pictures. About l5" of snow and at the moment it is freezing rain and the wind is starting to blow. Just what we needed. I am SO glad they cancelled our Washington State Horsemen Board meeting scheduled tomorrow in Ellensburg. I would not try to drive in that skating rink.

Boy, oh, boy, when it comes, it comes in bunches. Not only does my brother in law have cancer. He is holding his own at this moment, our niece has cancer in her hip bone. She just started chemo, our daughter in law was diagnosed with ovarian and uterine cancer. She has surgery on February l. Today our oldest granddaughter who lives in Maryland called and she has ovarian cancer. She has her first oncologist appointment on Monday. Then Bob had just a check up with our doctor who has only been our doctor since last May when our doctor of 30 years retired. Now she is leaving the area so we have to find another doctor again. Its not easy when you are both past 70. That about wigged me out and then the phone rang this evening and a drunk hit our son Tom's pickup. He and his wife were not hurt but pretty shaken up. They were driving down the road and a drunk driver came across 2 lanes of traffic and hit them in the drivers door. Then he tried to leave but Tom got to him and took his keys away from him. I feel like I have been caught in a whirlwind.

The horses are doing well. I was going to take some pictures of them today but Bob called me to do something and then I forgot. They all look like furry bears. They are all fat.

So, I am done whining. Sorry.

  1. Whine or Wine...that's my new motto! Mine comes with an H because I don't like the taste of the other kind.

So terribly sorry about all of your family, Lea! Good Lord...don't you just sit and ask why? But you will not fail the test, because your faith is stronger than all that.

Yes, good of them to cancel the meeting. I hear the Safeway in Cle Elum had a fire the other day.

Take care over there! Our snow was just over a foot, and the freezing rain has come and engulfed the north county in a layer of ice. Haven't been to see my Kitty in a week :(

  2. I'd be whining too Lea - your plate is not just full, it's overflowing. Life is hard sometimes and then other times it's harder. When you live as long as you and I have we see things we wish we hadn't...illnesses and deaths and people being mean to other people and children not getting all they need. It makes me long for Heaven sometimes. Thank goodness for the good times, the holiday dinners with family, the beautiful sunrises, the phone calls that bring good news. I'm praying for God's strength to carry you. blessings, marlene

  3. Hard to know what to say. Unbelieveable so many people hurting all at once in your family. Pray for them, talk with them when you can, send a little gift they might enjoy or a card. Then, focus on what you have that you love. Whatever is right there that you enjoy each day. You are living a good life although hard sometimes. You love your horses and take such good care of them. You care, it matters. I'll be praying for you and yours.

  4. You have some good friends here, Lea. Beautiful words and comforting thoughts expressed by friends that care. It IS overwhelming to find such news coming all at once. And its not whining to want to share with friends. That's how we get thru those tough times. Hugs!

  5. Oh Lea, I am sorry. I hate cancer! How scared you all must be. I hope all of them respond well to treatment and can leave cancer behind them. I'm sending you a big cyber hug.

  6. You can whine all you want to. You sure have a lot on your plate. I will keep you all in my prayers.
