Angels We Have Heard On High

Angels we have heard on high sweetly singing o'er the plains

And the mountains if reply echoing their joyous strains

Shepherds why this Jubilee Why your joyeous strains prolong?

What the gladsome tidings be which inspire your heavenly song?

Come to Bethlehem and see Him whose birth the angels sing;

Come adore on bended knee Christ the Lord, the newborn King.

See Him in a manger laid whom the choirs of angels praise;

Mary, Joseph lend your aid while our hearts in love we raise.

Gloria in excelsis Deo! Gloria in excelsis Deo.

Another foggy day around here. It did hit 32 today. That's the warmest in several days. I went to church this morning and about fell on my rear when I went to get out of the car. I caught myself and walked carefully. I had very high heels on my feet and it makes it tough walking on slick surfaces. When I came out it had melted off.

Today was the children's program. They are so funny and cute. The preschoolers sang Happy Birthday to Jesus. They did good once they got them all corralled in one place. The other kids did a little play - Meet Me At the Manger. Very Cute. There are always one or two that crack you up and today was no different.

The angel in the picture is an angel we got in l970 the Christmas after out little girl died. It has always been Coreen's angel and has been on our tree ever since. A reminder of our precious angel that lived five days and five hours.

Blessings

  1. Oh Lea I had to give up high heels years ago! Today I'm just glad if I can get into tennis shoes or Birkenstocks. :) It was a foggy day here today too - I couldn't even see the lake out my window when I got up. It was gone by the time we got back from church and we even had a bit of sunshine. blessings, marlene

  2. So glad you didn't fall! I don't wear heels very often, as I'm pretty clutzy in them. I love to watch the children's plays at church--so sweet. Thanks for sharing your little angel.
