I have been here a week. Have spent a little bit reading Facebook but not alot of time. Have a gazillion pictures but the are all still on my camera. I will have so many when I get home you will be sick of it.
We are having a wonderful time. Had never been to the Delta before. The little towns have funny names. At least I think they are peculiar. They don't seem to. I loved Sunflower. I thought Alligator was going to crack me up. Its a small black town of 250 people. Swamps galore. I could just imagine the bugs. ICKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKk.
I rode Cricket. She has turned into a beautiful Kiger mare. She is in Andi's book under orphans. The Kiger filly. We adopted her then I gave her to Caroline. She rides her every where. We went on a trail ride but I rode her other horse Baby Dash. He is her barrell horse but he is a wonderful trail horse. We must have ridden about 5 miles through the kudzu and trees. It was so fun. Today I took pictures of Carrie running barrels and Cricket running in the field. She also has a mini white little stallion who got out and was running with them. His name is Elvis. The King.
Yesterday we went shopping in Duck Hill. Names after Chief Duck. Just so much fun. Tomorrow afternoon we are going to Tupalo to meet my sister and bil to go there for a week. Its been a wonderful trip so far.
Blessings to you all.

Sunshine at last
I tried several other "home" pictures but nothing seemed to work. This is the south end of our home.
Aren't these beautiful pink mini roses. When we got home they were in front of our front door. Along with a card from our oldest son Steve and his wife Debbie. I was so surprised.
My suitcase is packed and my clothes are laid out and I am ready to go. My plane leaves at 11 in the AM and I will be in Jackson, MS at 10 their time in the evening. It will be a long day but I am excited. I talked to my niece today and she will be there to get me.
I worked with Sage a while this afternoon. I have gone almost as far as I know how without the round pen. I hope that Bob gets that done before I get home. Her little pen is so confining that I can't do some of the things I need to. She did let me run her neck and scratch under her chin but she needs to let me on the other side and she needs to learn about the lead rope. I am frustrated. We had such a good start and are kind of at a standstill.
I may have access to a computer, at least when I get to my sisters but don't know about before that. I just want to visit and have fun. See you -
Blessings

Mothers Day
Sunset on the West Plains - TIME to settle in for the night.
No other pictures today. I had my camera but nothing inspiring to photograph. We went to church and then car shopping, gave up and went to Azteca to dinner. I drove several cars, found the one I wanted but it was over our price range. I should never have driven it. I am spoiled for the others.
Nothing with animals today. Say hello to Sage and that was all. Hope you mothers had a great day.
Blessings to you all.

Lots of Pictures - Colville Adoption
Maggie, our much loved old dog. She has never been one to play with toys but the past few days she has taken to walking around with one of Skeeters toys and playing keep away. I don't know what the little animal was but his stuffing is all gone.
The rest of these are pictures from the adoption in Colville today. We had such a good time. Did a demo in the round pen. Didn't know we were going to do that but it was OK. Pepper did his usual slow walk around looking at the people.
A two year old buckskin/dun gelding. He was the one used in the gentling demo. He was also adopted.
A very nice yearling gelding that was adopted and Bob delivered.

Just a day
What's in your purse. Not to exciting, just normal things I guess.
We lost our battle with Licorice this evening. Makes me so sad. He tried so hard to live.
I went up to Colville to help at the adoption but the horses did not get there until about 3:30. I had a good talk with Angela, Ramona and Tom. I don't know if we are going to take horses tomorrow or not. Bob is really upset about the calf. We will see. I told Ramona we would be up there about 8:30. That is quite a facility.
I did a little with Sage today. I used a rubber curry on her and she liked that. She still has not let me on that other side except with a long stick scratching. I was not home long enough without chores, losing the calf ect. to spend a lot of time with her. She is getting pretty demanding when its meal time. Makes me laugh.
I needed something to make me laugh.

A Troubling Day
The photo challenge picture of the day.
It's at the Brooks Rd. bridge . The bridge is paved and the road on both sides is not paved and this big bump occurs every winter it seems.
That is all the pictures today. Have spent all day working trying to keep a calf alive. Poor Licorice. He almost died a couple of times but our neighbor Shannon who is a vet tech came and we put a big bag of stuff into him - warm water, electrolytes, a spectrum, and a pectate solution. I would not have liked a tube down my throat and a gallon of stuff poured in me. We will put another gallon down him in about an hour. Pectin, warm water, pectate. I need to find some BioPec to replace hers that she gave him this afternoon when his nose and the inside of his mouth was really cold. I was sure he would die but he is warm and is holding his head up this evening. I have him wrapped up in a horse cooler. I hate buying day old dairy calves. They always get sick because they take them right away and they don't get enough colostrum.
I did work about an hour with Sage. She will let me reach over her back and rub her with the short stick and she will let me reach under he neck and let me rub that other side but she will not let me stand over there. We did 3 steps back yesterday and I was discouraged last night. She did OK today. I moved her halter around and tried to take a hold of the little piece of rope left but she absolutely panicked when I did that. So that is going to be a work in progress. I did get to check her poll though and she has some hair rubbed off but no damage.
I am sorry my blog was so abrupt last night. Wanted to put my picture up and then my computer was acting up and it closed up shop so I just turned it off. I think I hit a wrong key somewhere and then it went berserk on me. All is well at this point this evening.
Blessings

No wind Hallelujah
This is down the road aways. When I got back from lunch with my friend Helen I just ambled around looking for just the right picture. I took several but this caught my eye. There were deer there on the right out of the picture but could not get the pond and the deer and wanted the pond.
