Indian Summer Sunset

I don't know if it is me or the computer.  Am having trouble loading pictures and I can rarely get on Facebook (lea myers williams) and I was doing a photo challenge and can't even catch up where I left off.  Cameron hasn't come over.  Guess I will have to go lead him by the ear.  He lives next door.

This was the sunset a few nights ago.  This time of year especially we have stunning sunsets.

I am so irritated with Katie's doctor who has been telling her for a month her baby would come early.  He hasn't.  She is frustrated because like all first time mom's she believes everything the doctor has told her.    We walk a mile every day.  It is good for both of us.  11 days to her actual due date and she could go 2 weeks past that.

I finished my first quilting project.  A pillow.  I will try to remember to post pictures tomorrow.  I am so excited.  It is all done by hand.  Not a machine stitch anywhere.  I am so proud of myself.  Today I started cutting squares for a smallish quilt.    You can teach an old dog new tricks.  LOL

I also got my banty chickens.  I am going to put some of the roosters on Craigs list though.  There were 5 roosters and 7 little hens.  They are so little full grown.

I had my hair permed yesterday.  Love it.  Now I can let it grow out some and it won't drive me nutty.

Time to get dinner on - turkey salad, garlic bread and apple cobbler.  The salad is made, just have to cut up some of the turkey.  The cobbler is still in the oven but should be about done.

Isn't this pretty.  Loved it.  Had a couple of other pictures but my computer is being weird and it would only load this one.  I tried to load my pictures for a photo challenge on Facebook and I can't even get FB to open, let alone put the pictures on.   OH Cameron, I need you.  I will talk to him in the morning.  Darn it all anyway.

Marilyn was coming today to work with her horses and Sage but she had company and didn't come.  I was disappointed but maybe tomorrow I will do it myself.  Not her horses but Sage.

I am going out to visit with Vicki in the morning to help me with my quilting venture.  It is fun.

A wonderful service at church this morning.  Our guest speaker was Ken Gaub.  He is so funny and then hits you with his message.  Enjoy him so much.  It was good to be there.  A good hug from my precious friend Lisa was just what I needed.

Have a great Monday.

Katie and Rosie

When Katie got off Rosie she gave her an apple fresh off the tree.  She ate it then licked her lips so she would get all the yummy  juice.
Katie was determined to ride one more time before the baby comes so she got on Rosie and rode bareback
She had a hard time getting on.  Even as tall as she is and as short as Rosie is, Nine months pregnant makes getting on a challenge.

Today I went to the quilt auction.  Will have to post pictures tomorrow.  The high selling quilt went for $5,500.00.  I want those people to adopt me.  It was lovely hand done, the entire thing.  It was a great day especially spending it with Nikki and her friend Rita.  And Rita's family.

Hope your Sunday is great.

Blessings.

I don't know if the top picture of Rosie is going to come or not.  It disappeared on my screen.

Indian Summer

This is what I hung on my dining room windows instead of curtains.  Bob got them out of a junk pile - there are four of them so both end windows have them.  I am going to get chain and that will lower them a little.  I think they are lovely.  Bob doesn't but he told me to do it anyway and I did.

Cool nights and nice warm days make a wonderful Indian Summer.  We could sure use a little rain though.

Thanks for all you encouraging words when I was so down in the dumps.  The girls left for Everett today.  It was difficult for all of us but its a good move for them, and I know that.  Just won't have them close.

Have a cute picture I will post tomorrow.  Katie rode Rosie today bareback.  Cute, and we both giggled.

I had other pictures I was going to post but Blogger would not let me.  Doggone it anyway.

Tomorrow I am going to a quilt auction at a Mennonite Church down between Ritzville and Moses Lake.  Won't buy but will be fun looking.  I am meeting Nikki and her good friend Rita there.

I am a failure

I am an utter flop at being a kitty foster mother.  We lost the little grey kitten today.  Chrissy was holding him and had held him for a bit and was acting sick and he died in her hands.  I feel so sad.  The black one - Baxter - is lively and eating well.

We went down to Harrison to visit with our friends and to go with our friends Marilyn and Dave as they delivered a horse.  Ziggy had to go to a good home or she couldn't have let him go.  Joyce and Angelo will give him a wonderful home.

I have been teary all day, for the kitty and thinking about telling Chrissy good by Friday morning.  My boys will be in Spokane but they don't pay too much attention to us.  You don't want to hear about my tearful thoughts.  If Katie didn't live next door I don't know what I would do.

Probably should not even send this but I will.  Not a happy day.  Enjoyed our friends but it was hard to put a smile on my face.

Moon River

I am not making light of one of my favorite songs of all times nor Andy Williams who had such a wonderful voice.

But the moon tonight was beautiful.  I wish I had thought to put my long lens on my camera.  Then, our daughter's dog - River.  Isn't she cute.

They are moving over to the Seattle area later this week and are staying here.  River wonders where she is and why.  I hate to see them move.  Half of my kids will be over there - both girls and their families and the boys will be here with their families.  I am lonesome already and they haven't left yet.

Nothing too exciting all day.  Got groceries and layed around.

Katies Shower

Her cake was so cute.  I had seen in on Pinterest and that is where Cindy saw it and got a friend of Cam's sister to make it.  Such a great job.  I has seen it on the Internet and shown Katie several months ago.  Katie is a cake decorator at the bakery at Fairchild AFB and wanted her to see it.
This quilt was something that made us all cry.  Her Grandmother Jordan had made the Precious Moments crossed stitched quilt squares so her great grand children would have something she made.  When she died several years ago no one wanted the squares (can you believe that) so Katie's mom Judy took them and had a quilt made using six of the squares for Katie to have for Justin.  The two darker green squares have scriptures from Psalms embroidered on it.  It is a beautiful thing.  She probably will never use it but put it away for Justin to have.  I hope she will use it to bring him home from the hospital before she puts it away.

It was a good day for her and for all of us.  Cindy, her MIL decorated and had a beautiful lunch for us all.  She is a very nice lady.

Bob was off turkey hunting when I got home so I did all the chores.  Sage and Ditto were standing there telling me not to forget them.  Maybe I will ride tomorrow.  Who knows.  Raspberry is so funny when I put her in.  She always goes straight to the chicken house to snatch chicken feed before I get a hold of her and drag her out.

Have a great Sunday,
Blessings
