I am a failure
I am an utter flop at being a kitty foster mother. We lost the little grey kitten today. Chrissy was holding him and had held him for a bit and was acting sick and he died in her hands. I feel so sad. The black one - Baxter - is lively and eating well.
We went down to Harrison to visit with our friends and to go with our friends Marilyn and Dave as they delivered a horse. Ziggy had to go to a good home or she couldn't have let him go. Joyce and Angelo will give him a wonderful home.
I have been teary all day, for the kitty and thinking about telling Chrissy good by Friday morning. My boys will be in Spokane but they don't pay too much attention to us. You don't want to hear about my tearful thoughts. If Katie didn't live next door I don't know what I would do.
Probably should not even send this but I will. Not a happy day. Enjoyed our friends but it was hard to put a smile on my face.
Blessings

Lea,
ReplyDeleteYou are not a failure you are a winner. You took half dead kittens and made one of them well with a good life ahead of it. I don't know where they came from but some kittens contact diseases from their mom's and they can't be saved. We are waiting right now to put a stray kitten with our other cat. The kitten cannot be checked for feline luk until Oct. 15. It looks healthy but if it has feline luk it will eventually die and I should put it down. :( We love it so much already. Your mustangs are just fabulous to me. Look at all you have done concerning them. The hours you have put in and how good they are doing because of you. I know it takes dedication and determination and I'm not sure I'm up for the challenge. I sure would love to help a mustang like you have done. Here are to better days ahead. Blessings.... ~ Rita
I "second" Rita's thoughts, Lea. You did the best you could, with a loving heart behind it. Nature or disease is more than likely what took the little guy. I have lost many pets over the years, but not for lack of trying and loving them in their need for care. The fact that you grieve for their loss is proof that you did all humanly possible and their life was way better WITH your intervention than it would have been without it. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteAw, Lea, I'm so sorry you've had such an unhappy day. Those kinds of days are the pits. Maybe if you go work with Sage it'll take your mind off things for a while and you'll feel better. I know that usually works for me, if I can get up the motivation to get out there and do it. Hope you feel happier soon! There are lots and lots of people who care about you, even though we may not be nearby.
ReplyDeleteYou know what my thoughts on this post are grandma lea. But i wont lecture u any more on it. Love u xoxo
ReplyDeleteOh Lea, I'm so sorry that you're having a sad day...we all have them, but they do pass. Wish I was there with you...we'd share a cup of tea and some good conversation, then maybe go for a little walk and enjoy the sunshine and the fall colors, fresh air and your animals. That's where I always head when I'm feeling blue - outside and near the animals. They have such a wonderful way of soaking up all the bad feelings and thoughts. Beautiful comforters they are. I'm sorry to hear about your little kitty. :( I'd be teary too, but that shows your compassion and ability to love. Not everyone grieves for the loss of a kitty...but you do, and that's one of the reasons I love you. I know we've never met, but you're a friend nonetheless. :) The other morning while on my way to work, I ran over a squirrel. I hated it!! I bawled like a baby for the loss of that little squirrel. They're God's creatures too, and it just made me so sad. At least you tried to save the kitties, you gave them food, comfort and love. That's the best any of us could have done. Will say a prayer for you and hope that you're feeling much happier real, real soon. Blessings, Lorie
ReplyDelete(((HUGS))) Lea. We've all had those days, and they are no fun, but part of the journey. Glad the little black kitty is doing well. He wouldn't be here if it weren't for you!
ReplyDeleteGood morning Lea, just checking in with you and hoping that today is a much, much better one for you!!
