Now its really Tuesday

On day Eight of Christmas I have EIGHT blue banty eggs. Our grandkids think they are magic or something., Cute little eggs.
These are my applesauce cinnamon ornaments that I made today. They are drying now. They do smell good.

I baked eight loaves of zucchini bread today. We ate some of one of the loaves for dessert tonight. It isn't as good as Nikki bakes but its good.

Last night I mentioned that we went to the school concert of our grandson Seth. This is him with his trumpet. He has the most beautiful red curly hair.
I sure did mess up last night. I was for sure it was Tuesday. So yesterday was my thankful Tuesday. At least I didn't forget it. I was positive that today was Wednesday until Bob got home and said something about taking my car to work tomorrow. I asked him why he was working. I was embarrassed when he showed me the calendar. Well anyway this is Tuesday, tomorrow is Wednesday and he is taking my car in the morning and I will be stranded. Oh well. Have a lot to do.
Hope your WEDNESDAY is blessed.

Thankful Tuesday

And on the 7th. day of Christmas I found SEVEN reindeer prancing. OR seven trees in the snow. I have had this blanket for probably 15 years and never thought of hanging it over the top of the quilt that hangs there usually. Christyn suggested it - good idea. She is the decorator, I am the appreciator.

It was minus 10 today. I thought I was going to freeze doing the chores and then Pepper pulled another of his tricks when I was putting him in the barn. He could not remember what I wanted him to do at all. He thought lets run around the barn a few times, lets do fast rollbacks when I got close so...................I went and got a driving whip and he said. Oh oh, I better get in there or she is going to pop me with it. Amelia and Ditto were half way thru their grain by the time he got it.

The tank heaters are having a hard time keeping the water clear. A couple of them are floaters and they keep a round circle clear. The horse trough has two in it so it just had a little film of ice. I had to carry hot water to the goat and chickens. When it is cold like this it is so hard on the animals.

We spent the evening at our grandson Seth's Holiday Concert. He plays the trumpet. He is in the fifth grade. Part of the concert was the strings. Ever heard a group of kids with violins that are just learning. Made my teeth ache. They tried so hard though. He is a sweet boy. We will go on Thursday to Ryan's concert. He is in middle school. He is a drummer. I wish Christyn had told us when Jadeyn's was. She told me the next day. Jade plays the flute.

Now to the Thankful Tuesday. Today I am so thankful for a good furnace. I think of the homeless people living under the bridge or in alleys and I say Thank You Lord for a house with a good furnace to keep us warm in this frigid weather. I pray for those people. There are many who are not on the streets because its what they choose. I know their are warming shelters open but there are always those that don't go to shelters of any kind. God, keep them warm tonight.

I will be warm in my comfy bed and I am blessed.

Sunday

Me and my fancy red shoes. Joy, this is for you. I found out I could walk on them just fine and dandy but would not have wanted to walk too far.

On the SIXTH day of Christmas I have SIX pretty dishes. I got the blue one for a wedding present 52 years ago. The pink one is part of the set of my grandmothers dishes. She never broke one, I did. I had hysteria. The small white one is English bone china. I paid a dollar for it at a yard sale. The pear shaped one came from Bob's parents. There are 4 of them. The other two I have had for 40 years anyway but were inexpensive.

This is our cat Trouble. He is appropriately named. I can't remember how old he is. About 10 I think. He had been laying down with his feet straight up in the air but when I moved and got the camera he moved. He is an arrogant guy. He doesn't want to be touched unless he instigates it and then you can't get rid of him. Last month when the guy was here working on the furnace he had to call to me to come get him. He would not leave him alone.
For some reason, once again, I got two pictures. I wish I knew what I did to do it or how to get rid of it.

This was a cold weekend but no snow. We went to church this morning and we almost always see deer, coyotes and lots of turkeys but this morning it was very windy and about 5 degrees and we saw 2 turkeys. I did not blame them. I would be hunkered down someplace if I was them. Winter is surely here.
I hope your weeked is blessed.

Sunny Saturday

On the fifth day of Christmas I have FIVE little cowboy boots. Four bits a hanging, three candles burning, two Teddy bears and One dog sleeping.

The sun is shining and it is 20 degrees out. I can love it when the sun shines. Snow is predicted for tonight but who knows.

I am doing this early because Bob and I are going to our Back Country Horsemen Christmas party this evening. We will get home late I am sure. Its always fun even is some drink a little in excess. We don't - drink so we always feel great on Sunday morning.

A cold Friday

AND on the fourth day of Christmas I have FOUR bits a hanging............................. Plus some other stuff.

A cold day but not like what is coming. When it gets to below 0 I want to hibernate. Watch out bears, I am going to find me a cave. Maybe in my bed with a good book. And lots of warm covers and a rice bag on my feet. Need to figure out how to keep it warm though without getting up. I love hardwood floors but..............when its cold they are cold.

We went to town and did errands today. Went to my favorite tack store - Will Rogers. He is past 90 and still riding and has tons of stuff, new and used. We have bought several saddles from him through the years. Hes a neat old guy. Then we went and I bought myself a pair of red patent dress shoes with higher heels than I am used to but I wanted them so I bought them. We are going to a party tomorrow night and I thought they would look festive with my black jeans and red sweater.

Have a good Saturday.

On the third day of Christmas I have...........................three candles burning.

On this thinking Thursday I am thinking about my good friend Louise. She is why my blog was so brief yesterday. I was working on it and my cell phone rang and it was her. She fell in November and shattered her hip. She has had a replacement and is home alone now. She is using a walker We are the same age and that really scares me. We have been friends since we were five years old. We lived side by side. Her daughter Elizabeth came down from the Seattle area for two weeks to be with her but she has a special needs child and could not stay away any longer. Her other daughter is with her husband in Okinawa with the military. I wish she was closer so I could go help her for a while. She is in Denton, TX.

Bob and I worked on fences today. We are dividing the paddock area in half so we can keep the horses separated. Some get along better than others. It was cold out there and we are both tired this evening. I think he is sleeping on the couch. I can hear both he and Maggie snoring. LOL.

Our three steers went to freezer camp today too. Bob helps with that, not my job. That will cut the chores down for me in the evenings though. It is all sold but one quarter that we will keep. They were all three big guys and the extra money will come in handy this time of the year.

Bed is going to feel specially good tonight.

On the 2nd. day of Christmas I give you TWO Teddy bears. Aren't they sweet snuggled there on the tree.
