Part 2 of Happy Dance Day

Marilyn, the first one up. She is such a talented trainer. And a great rider. And a very valued and trusted friend.
Just after I got on. Flexing her head both ways. She does that well.

Backing her before we started forward.

Then off we went around in the round pen which we enlarged by 3 panels. If she stopped I flexed her and backed her before I asked for a forward.

It was an exciting day. For me any way. ]

I don't know why the computer would not load pictures last night. Just one. But it did work this afternoon. Guess it was being lazy.

Today I just did ground work with Sage. She did well in the round pen and walking around she did great until we came upon a sprinkler in the front yard. That took a bit of working to take her mind off of it. She is learning though. I really did miss some things in the beginning so now we are having to catch them up. Some I just missed and some I didn't know that I should do. Marilyn has never made me feel stupid though although sometimes I feel like it.

Bob left to go to Nikki's for a cousin's funeral tomorrow. I am home taking care of the critters. I don't like not having my car though. He will be home tomorrow night sometime and he will have Nikki's two youngest boys with him. We will have fun. Lane at 13 isn't so excited to come as he used to be but Isaac is. He was 8 a week ago.

Hope you are having a wonderful day. Its plenty warm here

WooHoo Back In the Saddle

This is the only picture that would load. Darn it. However I will try again tomorrow to see if I can get more.

I rode Sage today. It was wonderful. I was so proud of her. It was so good to be back on her. She was quiet and calm and did whatever Marilyn or I asked of her. I was a little apprehensive but just settled in and did it.

I am mad at the computer I had other pictures to load. Have a good Friday.

Good progress

I forgot to take my camera out this morning but Sage did good. Marilyn came this morning. I went to catch Sage and I could not catch her. She came in and worked her in the pen around and finally got her. She had caught her and turned her loose several times and then she worked at her leading nicely. Without putting her head down for a snatch of grass. She put her back into her pen and left her about 10 minutes and then caught her again. She had to do some working with her. Later today I went in with the halter and lead rope and she came right up to me and put the halter on her and we went for a walk. She minded so well. Marilyn will be back in the morning at 9 for more work. I hope she will feel she is ready to ride.

So my work with Sage gave me a glad day. Bob is cutting hay for a guy in Deer Park. He pays him in hay instead of money. Works for us and for him. He will go back in the morning for another day. Its been so wet and now it seems like we are supposed to have an extended time of good weather, good for hay farmers.

I was so glad to see that Gerry Cox, a trainer who lives in Arden (near Colville), placed 3rd. in the Extreme Mustang Challenge in Albany, Oregon last weekend. He brought Annie Fannie home. Good job Gerry. My computer won't let me view the video of his freestyle run. You can get it at his Face Book.

Bob got home and we finished up the scalloped potatoes he made me last night. With Polish Sausage in them it was yummy.

Kansas, look out

This picture was taken in 2009. Was looking through
some older pictures and I found this one that I took at the Draft Horse Show up in Sandpoint, ID. They were Friesens. I remember they were stunning.

We had weird weather last night and today. Yesterday was nice until evening and a big storm rolled by. We could see it but we did not get any of the rain. This morning the wind was really whistling. Blowing bad. I took a nap and when I woke up, the wind is gone and not a cloud in the sky. It was strange but I am glad to see blue sky.

I had a colonoscopy today. I went dragging my feet but the doctor said at my age all was perfect and don't have to have another. That is a good thing because I said I wouldn't. I don't mind the procedure, you sleep through it, its the day before I hate. If you could take pills I wouldn't care. The liquid is so gross you have to drink. Is that more information that you wanted to know? Probably.

Anyway after something to eat and home took a nap, I am ready for life again. Tomorrow, Sage here I come.

Rest of the pictures

This is an absolutely gorgeous barn. He built every inch of it and designed it before that. It really is a piece of art.

Her flowers are beautiful.

One little froggy in her green house.

Another little froggy on another leaf.

Her flowers are so pretty. She has a real green thumb. I don't. Loved looking at them and taking pictures.

It was a pretty day today despite the dark clouds earlier. I should have worked with Sage but didn't. Tomorrow I will.

Rain Drops Keep Falling On My Head

Yesterday Bob and I went down to our friends Angelo and Joyce who live in the hills outside of Harrison, Idaho. They have a stunning home with a view that would keep me in their living room 24/7. Its stunning. They have a beautiful place. She beautiful flowers and a green house with lovely plants.

I took a bunch of pictures but for some reason this is all it let me upload tonight. I will probably have some more tomorrow.

Their horses are fat and slick and waiting to go on a trail ride in the mountains. Joyce had a hip replaced in January and can't ride just yet so they are all waiting.

And, can that lady cook. It was so good. We finished the evening with strawberry shortcake from strawberries from her garden.

We were out of cell phone and range and I got upset when we finally got to where we could. My brother in law that is ill had a real down turn. He has an infection somewhere and was running a 105 temp. Please keep him in your prayers. We are not ready to let him go yet. I want to be with my sister so bad. I know she has her kids around but I want to be. We just can't afford to go back to TN right now. God is in control, that is what I keep telling myself.

It spit rain all afternoon. Hope it does not rain hard with Hoopfest going on in Spokane. There are over a thousand 3 on 3 teams participating.

Good To Be Home

It is good to be home but it was awesome to spend Nikki's birthday with her. It was great fun for dinner and.........at Angel of the Wind casino.
From the left, Dustin, me Nikki, Carmen, Heather, Joel, Bryant, Tyler and Kevin. All of the boys except Kevin are Nikki's boys. You would never know that would you. Dustin is head of telecommunications at the casino and got Nikki a good sized meal for the group of us. Their food was very good.

Sunday morning after church Isaac having a hotdog. I had Pizza. Isaac hates pizza. He will be 8 in two weeks.

Two precious Great grandkids. Lilliana starts school this fall. Nathaniel is 2 1/2. Sweet kids.

Coming home. Skeeter and I needed a little break.

If I had only known what lay ahead!!!!!!!!!. Friday when I went over there were signs of road work but no one working. HOWEVER half way up the Waterville grade. We sat the better part of an hour. I am so glad it wasn't hot. Once we got going from there on the east of Douglas we got held up again. This time only about 20 minutes. I was aggrevated by the time we got through all that.

So I am home and trust I will get to work Sage this week. I took three video's with me to Nikki's that I knew she would enjoy, 3 Road to the Horse video's We watched 2 of the sets. Enjoyed them so much and have some ideas to put into my work with my black and white girl.
