B is for Blessed

And I am.

Blessed

For man reasons but today the main thing is my wonderful horse, Sage. I rode her today in the arena not attached to a lead line or anything. Just she and I. I refused to ride her in the round pen anymore. Bob first put a long line on her and walked beside her, then he took it off and just walked along and then he stood in the center and she just did what ever I asked her to do. It was really awesome. She walks out almost like a Walking horse. She has a long comfy stride. Oh it was wonderful.

There are many reasons for my blessedness. My husband of almost 55 years, my 6 children, my assurances that 2 of them are in heaven, Our 17 grand children, 7 great grand babies, my wonderful friends, some since childhood, my church family and living our dream.

Katie and I went shopping today for her some maternity clothes, she is popping our, some sewing things I needed, a trip to the used book store and to Big R for some things. We had a great time. She shared her Cadbury chocolate with me and then I remembered I had given up chocolate for Lent. Lord I am sorry but it sure was good.

Other than riding which I have already articulated about, that was my day.

Blessings,

A Great Day

Sage's cut that is all healed and the hair is starting to grow over even there. You can see how wide it was to start with. Hope it doesn't scar but its OK. It is really wonderful how it has healed up.
I groomed Ditto and that is a drop in the bucket to all what I got off her. The birds will have plenty to make nests out of.

I turned the old dear loose to pick at the green grass. Her back is sagging so and her knees are getting lumpy but other than that, she is in good health.

After Sage and I had worked for an hour or so I let her loose in the yard to nibble too. She thought she was in heaven I think. She started walking away and I hollered at her and said "where do you think you are going" and she stopped and went back. I think, in my head anyway, she was looking for me and when she saw me she went back to eating.

We lunged both ways, backed with just the wiggle of the rope, stepped over with her hind legs while keeping the front one still, flexed both ways, picked up her front feet and we worked on the hind feet. She still is not too sure about them. I used a cotton rope to lift them. She needs her feet trimmed.

Instead of trimming feet Bob and Katie worked on the fencing.

The tree in the front yard is getting ready to burst forth. That makes me happy

And the daffodils are up and will bloom later. They are at the base of the tree.

So that was my day other than we went to the cow auction this morning. Bob goes for entertainment and I wondered why I wanted to go.

My friend Marlene at Stitchin By the Lake blog is doing something and I thought I would do it to. It is going through the alphabet and describing yourself. So here goes -

A is for articulate. I really can express myself well and have done enough speaking here and there that it is easy for me. So Articulate it is for today.

Remember to comment on my blog. The more days you comment the more entries you will have. The prize is a surprise but I promise you will like it.

A happy day tomorrow for you,

Blessings,

Not An April Fool

Bob looked out our bedroom window and low and behold, there were 3 horses in our yard eating. The wind had blown the panels over. This is Peanut. He was chomping away at the green grass that has sprung up.
And, Rusty and Cody eating away too. Bob went down and fixed the panel and they went right back where they belonged.

Peanut came right up to us and said HI. This new grass is good. Then he ran right after the other two. No big trauma for anyone. I know they had not been out there long. I had looked within the half hour but they were sure happy to have the grass.

Sage and Ditto in the back ground wishing they were out there with them.

On the 23rd. I will have been blogging 4 years. Everyone who comments between now and then will win a prize. It will be a surprise but you will like it. Everyone who comments will get their name and I will draw after 5 our time on the 23rd.

God played an April Fool joke on us. When we left for church it was snowing. It turned to a real downpour. This afternoon was clear though. Tomorrow is predicted no rain so maybe I can ride. That would be great.

Good Bye March

My latest crocheted rug. Its for sale. 50.00 plus 5.00 shipping unless you are local. It is 5' by 28". I finished it yesterday. Sure would like to sell it.
An awful picture of Sage. He head is not that large nor her body that small. In a break in our weather today I brought her in and tried to get some of the mud off of her. She seemed to like it but I am sure she rolled in it again when I turned her back out. That seems to be a favorite.

Our old Maggie. She lays like that in her bed. She is such a good old girl.

Knobby is our newest calf. He is just going to be a bottle baby. He is a cutie isn't he.

Hershey wondering what I was doing.

Can't remember what Katie calls this kitty. He is a nice kitty but not tame.

I am not going to be sad that March is already over. The weather has been dreadful. I guess April is going to start out the same. My mares are tired of being stalled so much but they have no shelter. We turned Peanut out with Rusty and Cody today. They seem to be tolerant of the young guy.

A Sweet Visit

This morning my sweet friend Kim stopped by with her grandchildren on their way back to Eureka, Montana. Only God and I know how much I have missed her since she moved. She lived down the road from us here. I was so thrilled to see her. I don't think I had even combed my hair.

Her lovely grandchildren. The wind was blowing and it was cold but they were good sports about getting their pictures taken. Tame' is 10, Damion is 11 and T'Kaya is l3. Love them and their mama Miranda. Sure would like to see her too.

Kim and the kids. They will have fun together next week.

It was a great time to see her again. She says she will come over and bring one of her horses and ride with us this summer. I hope so. She has two of Ditto's boys KC and Sam.

I am concerned about my friend Andrea that lives down in the Potlatch, Idaho area and they are having some massive flooding. Hope they are on higher ground. Roads are washing out around here. Its awful and according to the TV Weather forecasters we have at least another 4 or 5 days of this. It is so dreary.

I was looking out the window this morning when Bob was putting Sage out. Just as they came out the barn door the wind picked up a bucket and blew it right in front of them. She freaked out a bit and ran around Bob snorting. He got her settled down and picked up the bucket and let her smell it. She was OK after that. It was kind of funny to watch as long as I wasn't the one leading her. The wind subsided this late afternoon some. It was pretty hard. I did not sleep well. I thought we might end up in Kansas.

Thank you Kim for coming by.

Blessings.

Every Raindrop Is A Record

Quite a few years ago when we were in Tennessee we took the tourist tour and went to the hall of fame. We have been in Tennessee many times but don't do the touristy things except once in a while go house looking.

It is raining, it is raining or did I say that. Every drop that falls is a record dose of rain for the month of March. It is supposed to do this all week long. We are up to our knees in mud and muck. I hate the horses being in it but no place for them to go. It really is miserable.
Our weather may not be so nice but Bob took this picture in 2004 when he went into the Bob Marshall wilderness. I don't know which river but it sure is pretty.

Cricket in Mississippi. She is a well traveled horse. When she left here she went to Massachusetts where Caroline lived. Then they took her to Mississippi when they moved there. That is where I took this picture. Now she is in northern Tennessee where they have moved again. Carrie is now in college in Mississippi so I don't know where Miss Cricket will end up. They won't sell her though. I am positive about that.

The feet of a hard working man.

We had a Mustang Club meeting this evening. Everyone made it except Andrea. We miss her. Our club is going riding and camping in two weeks down at Escure Ranch which is about 2 1/2 hrs. away. We are all excited. It better quit raining by then.

I am wondering about starting an ark but haven't heard God tell me yet.

Blessings

Peanut Arrives

His name is Peanut Butter Cup. That is as bad as Coyote Ice Cream. Well that turned into Cody and we will call him Peanut. His mother is a QH, dad is a Mustang. These people really don't get it, he is still a baby. I doubt that he is more than a year and a half. He really has no respect or manners and he is going to learn them here.
I really don't like horses to walk over me. He will given the chance. We will see what the people want to do. Let us work with him and sell him or what.

ATTENTION and so what is that about. Tiger didn't get what the dogs were doing.

Both babies eating. Hershey eats good with some guidance.

Friends. They were more cuddled up until I went to take the picture.

Not much else today.
