Twas the night before Easater.

No picture today. Will have some tomorrow though for positive. There was a pretty sunset but by the time I found where I had put my camera it had changed. I should have put it where I usually do where I can grab it quickly.

The potato salad is put together, the floors all wiped up and the dishes done. The baskets are filled and in a large basket. My clothes are layed out for church. So what is left - ? I am sure I will think of something about the time I am drifting off to sleep. Oh yes, my toe nails are painted. That's an important chore when you are wearing open toed shoes tomorrow.

We had a big scare last night. I about had a coronary running down the road about 11 last night. I was just dozing off and Bob was asleep on the couch. The phone rang and a neighbor said our horses were running down the road. We hit the front door running. I had to come back and get a flashlight. By that time Bob was in the SUV that has 4 wheel drive and started down the road. We found them in the 50 acre field across the road. They were running and bucking and having fun. There is a fair amount of traffic on our road and I tried to slow cars down by waving the flashlight but no one even slowed down a bit. After Bob got them headed in the right direction he got out of the car and we started walking them towards home. I prayed like mad that there would be no cars come. There wasn't. The got out on the road and went down the middle of the road of course to our driveway and went to their pasture. Our 50 mph winds had blown a portion of their fence over. I was so relieved. It was so very cold and the wind was blowing hard and even though stars were out, the moon was behind clouds so it was very dark. Whew. I came in and went to bed and slept like a rock, Bob was up and down all night with a stress induced stomach upset.

So that is my drama for today even though it happened last night.

I finally got the head guy at Busy Bee Stables and got our Mustang Days all taken care of. He was so willing to work with us. Larry has a little ego but that's OK. He will help us even set up the trail course. He said we had 600 acres to work with. We won't need that much and it made me chuckle. It is the last weekend in June. I am sure I will be posting more and more about it. I do need to get insurance yet. I will do that on Monday.

Remember why we celebrate Easter. It is not the bunnies and the candy and the colored eggs. It is the day Christ rose from the grave after dieing on the cross for our sins.

Till tomorrow.

Winter has returned

This is what I saw out of the window by my computer. The little robin had just taken a bath in the mud puddle you see. When I went out to do the chores this evening there were many many robins in the yard. They were hopping around on the ground and in the apple tree. I don't know why they were congregating here.
Today we had a blizzard, a rain storm and much wind. I am so tired of this. I want to ride
and can not do it in this weather. Oh well.

I finished the Easter baskets I made for the girls, grown up and little and some for the grandsons. I made them out of paper bags. I didn't think they would want lace, beads and ribbon. Bob agreed with me.

I cleaned all the hardwood floors today and folded laundry and cooked the potatoes for the potato salad. I will cook the eggs tomorrow so I can get that all put together except for the dressing tomorrow. When I was at Walmart yesterday I bought so lightweight plastic dishes all bright Eastery colors. I hate paper plates. These were very inexpensive and when they break we can toss them. Got a platter which I didn't really need but for 1.00 it was a pretty green and a bowl which was also a pretty spring color. The dishes were 4 for a buck so you see if they break away they go.

Lots to do tomorrow.

Sunshine at last this week

This is my sweet brother in law known to most as L.E. but to us as Brownie. Today he retired after nearly 48 years. I would have loved to have been there for the celebration at AEDC and later at home. All three of their children and all of their grandchildren were there to wish him well. I could not find a larger picture. I snitched this from Facebook. He is a wonderful person and has taken wonderful care of my sister as her health has deteriorated. I will be seeing them in May. Can't wait.

The Albertsons pirate. He also had a large Rottweiler on a leash, Rocky. I have seen him around before but asked him today if I could take his picture. We stopped at the bank in Albertsons and he was out front. I think he said the bird was a Sunshine Conyer. It never moved from his shoulder. It went up and nestled closer to his face, but not a move to leave his perch.

I got some news today about Sage and an apology for it being so long before she got here. She will be her the 8th 9th. or 10th. of April. So less than two weeks and I will have her. If something screws up I am headed for Burns with the truck and trailer and get her myself. I wish it were sooner but at least I have an idea.

I found out there was going to be a small adoption in Colville, WA the first weekend of May at the Mountain Horse Stables. We will be going and helping.

I did find some interesting facts about Amelia. She is a Nevada horse from the Railroad Valley HMA which does not exist any more. I am going to Google it and see what I can find out. She is a different horse from the others in confirmation and size.

Have a good April 1st.

Another yukky day

I did not take a picture because I thought we would have a new baby calf I could show you. No not yet. And, we are supposed to have snow tonight. Poor Candy and poor baby. We are praying no twins this time. She is not nearly as large as when she popped them out. She had twins two years ago in a foot of much so guess this might be better. I don't know. The other cow has a little while to go.

I caught Rusty and put the Shreiners on her leg. Its about healed but still a place open and until that is closed we need to keep spraying it every day. She was naughty about me catching her. I got really aggravated with her. She didn't want me to tie her up to the trailer. Bob got home while I was having our argument. I got her tied up and told him what I thought of that little red headed horse. We left her there for a while and then he worked with her and I did the other chores. He put her in and out of the trailer and I don't know what else. She has to get over this stubbornness. If I did not know she wasn't afraid it would not bother me, but she is just stubborn and wants her own way. Tracey talks about (on her blog Mustang Diaries) her red headed terror. I think we have a match.

Bob thinks he might not have to work tomorrow. I hope not. We have things to do. And I want to go get Bob and small welder at Harbor Freight. It will be his Valentine, Easter and Fathers Day I imagine. Its on sale and he wants it. Its a coupon sale and I forgot it today when I went in to town. Drat. I did get an Easter outfit. Not just Easter of course but for my trip and dress up events. I did not get a dress. Probably should but I don't wear dresses. In fact I don't own one. A couple of skirts. Don't know why, I used to.

I am making Easter Baskets for my girls, little and big. Need to figure out what to do with the boys. Don't think they would like lace, jewels and ribbon. Oh well, I will. I should have started earlier. Didn't get the idea sooner.

Happy last Day of March.
