Views on our way to Gold Creek

The Aspen are turning already at 8,000'. So pretty.

A rock formation we kind of drove around. (On the highway of course.)

The smoke was so thick the sun was RED.

Sage learned to stand at the trailer or to a tree or the high line like a lady.

Gold Creek camping area.

The marking on Sage's shoulder. I might have named her different if I had looked at her closely before I gave her that name.

A little country school house. Home of the Mustangs.

Loved the old barn. I think it still is being used.

Hope you are enjoying the pictures. I am loving sharing them with you.

We had our first meeting of the Northeast Zone this evening. Not many there but It was good to see those who were there.

Blessings,

Coolidge, Ghost Town but no ghosts

On the road to where we camped the day we left Harrison Park which was the trail head. this is also the road to Coolidge. There are places to dry camp all the way beyond where they were logging.
Isn't that an interesting rock? It was about 5' tall. The parking area for the ghost town is about half a mile from the actual town. It is a half mile walk unless you have a 4 wheeler. We could have unloaded the horses and rode but we all agreed that would take longer than the walk.

The guys walking ahead of me.

I wish someone had maintained the buildings.

A fence - duh. I am sure you could see that.

A pretty stream.

An open mine shaft. I didn't even like walking around it.

The Back Country Horsemen of that area refurbished that cabin.

It was an interesting place to walk around. I wish the places could talk so we could know what went on in it. It was a mining town.

The next morning Bob took Joyce and I to the Elkhorn Hot Springs. That was fun too. A good hot shower and hair washing and then soaking in a 95 degree pool. I could have stayed all day I think. It was awesome. Angelo had some maintenance to do on the truck so he stayed with the horses. Lots of cows around there. A BIG range bull ambled through our camp that morning. When we got back to the camp site we loaded up and started out. Our second day toward home.

Day or two before we left to move

Sage grazing. She didn't have hobbles on that moment but Bob put them on her when she started wandering a little far.
Some of the rocks. Great big rocks in big piles.

Joyce, Angie and Bob walking across the field. Loved that old dead tree.

They were almost back to where I was perched on the rocks. I just did not feel like walking clear across that big meadow.

That is how Angie closed up the rear of their truck. I am not sure our horses would have walked up that ramp, but theirs did.

Tomorrow I will start with the other camera. No so many pictures on it but different than from this camera.

I planted some different peppers from the regular green peppers. They are green but smaller and kind of round. I put one in a salad tonight and boy were they hot. Wish I could remember what they were called. Very tasty but holy catfish, they were hotter. Not Jalapeno.

I still am working on the trailer. I have piles of stuff all over the lawn behind the trailer. I hope to finish it up tomorrow. Bob is looking for a different cupboard. I want something on the floor too. Maybe we can find a remnant of something.

We went to Walmart and got groceries this afternoon and I forgot wrapping paper and a card for Katie's shower which is Saturday. After Saturday I will show a picture of it but she reads this blog. I am pleased with my choice. You will be too Ms. Katie.

I am going to plan on riding Sage tomorrow. She is looking sad because I have been loving on her every day but I have not been out there since we got home. I must.

Blessings

Next days of so...............

Three of the four out grazing. Sage was hobbled. She did fine with them. She fell on her nose when she first had them on and then did fine. She learned to run in them. Hi O Sage.
Our tent. Could be larger but it works.

Grazing

Didn't realize I had put both pictures on. A little creek ran down the middle.

The camp.

Bob kept losing his glasses. See them?

The little stream.

This was actually about 10" across. Had never seen one so large. It was interesting.

Bob and Joyce riding in after a 10 mile ride. I did not go.

Missy Sage looking at something on down in the meadow.

Wrangler. He is so herd bound he would not leave the mares so he just drug a rope.

I got the trailer all unloaded. I took everything out that I could. It needs a good cleaning and Bob is going to do some additional cupboards and some hooks to hang things. I am also going to get rid of some of the stuff that was in there.

Katie's dogs got out somehow this afternoon. They came right to our place. I am glad that I was outside when I got zapped by Duke than Callie came bombing around the corner. I got a hold of them and Bob got some leads out of the barn. We took them home and put them in the house.

I hope they don't tear stuff up. Bob called her and told her.

I worked in the trailer most of the day and visited with John and Theresa for a while. So my body says its tired. See you tomorrow.

Blessings.

Home -----------Weary

Day One

Out truck all ready to go except loading the horses. They all load like angels.
Bissells rig in front of out somewhere east of Haugen, Montana. We did spend the night in Haugen at some corrals there. This was our first whole day.

There were fires all over the place. This helicopter was picking up a large bucket of water. That particular fire was up a canyon on the north side of the highway.

We stopped at a rest area for lunch south of Butte on Highway 15. It is really big country.

Angelo and Joyce's rig. He built it all. RV in the front, four horses in the rear part. It catches peoples eye.

Bob at our rig, same rest area.

Isn't it beautiful.

The rock formations were very different and awesome.

The Wise River down in the canyon.

I was fascinated by the cone shapes.

The last little town we went through.

We camped at this area for the night. Sage looks like no halter but she had her black one on and dragging a lead rope. They all thought they were in seventh heaven.

Set up for the night.

Watch for bears. Saw lots of sign but no bears. Just cows. They came just before dark. Lots of mooing.

It was a long day riding in the truck but we did OK. It got VERY cold that night. Bob and I both were looking for something warmer during the night. The altitude there is over 6,000 feet.

It was really a good trip and I will have more pictures. I took over 200 but I won't bore you with that many. I have told people that I did it, and now I can take it off my bucket list. I much prefer not going so far and just camping in our comfy trailer and riding out of there. However, I did enjoy the time and the rides once we got into our camp area. Packing in and out was way WAY too much work for me. I do appreciate Bissells for allowing me to tag along with them and my very green horse. More about her and our adventure another day. Bob was a big help and helped me when it was our turn to cook.

Blessings to you all,
