Goat Day

Me yesterday at Ryans party.
My Raspberry that tried to come in the back door with the dogs. She was quite upset when I would not let her in too. What a sweet little goat she is.

This mama had quadruplets. This is two of them. The back one can't quite stand up yet. His legs were apparently straight out behind him in utero and its taking a bit to get him straighted out. Shannon says he is better and if she stands him up on them he now can stand there so he will be OK.

The other half of the quads. This mama had quads too and they all died so she took these two just fine. Sota is Shannons best producing goat I think.

Shannons cat Barney - he lives in the BARN LOL. He came from here and was snow white when he was born but now he is kind of silver color.

Twin babies

The baby goats are so cute and we had fun looking and taking pictures. It was a nice enough day although the wind is blowing and that made it feel colder, especially with the fallen snow.

Ryans Party

Ryan turned 15 on Thursday. I took this picture today. Lots of kids and activities.

I am a little sore this evening. I was leading Sage and reached back to pet her face because she was being so good and she stepped on the toe of my barn boot. I lost my balance and fell flat on my face right under her head. She stepped back and then reached down and touched me with her nose as if to say "what are you doing down there?" She did not mean to trip me and I felt stupid falling. Katie pulled into her driveway just as I went kerplop and came over right away to see if I was OK. She helped me feed the rest of them. Darn, I hoped she didn't see me fall, but she did. It was sweet of her to come check on me.

We had a Back Country Horsemen meeting tonight and when we came out it was snowing like mad but wet and not sticking much. The closer to home we got the nicer it was and we just got a skiff. The weather report was for several inches. I am glad they were wrong.

Are you tired of Sage and her Cut?

Hope you aren't, I think it looks better. Don't you? She stood there and does not even flinch when you squirt the Vetricin on the cut. That makes me happy with her. When we started it took two bottles of water squirting until she would let us put the Vetricin on it. We need another bottle too by the first of the week. That is good stuff.

Ron came over and started to hang my chandelier in the living room. It made a big mess but it will be worth it.

We went and got groceries today and that was about the most exciting thing I did. LOL

Another Snow Day

Today our grandson Ryan turns 15. Can't believe it. He is a good boy, gets good grades and is very musical. Love you Ryan.

Out my bedroom window just after it started to snow. Ditto and Sage were walking around in circles wanted me to come get them and put them in the barn. I did in a little while. Emma just stood there getting a white blanket on her back.

Sage's cut looks better tonight and she is fine about us working on it and spraying it. I will take another picture in a day or two. I am going to try to ride her tomorrow snow or not.

Update on Sage

I think it should heal faster but it is shrinking. I cleaned it all out tonight again. It is reallty gross to have to do it but since we have had horses, I have had to learn to do things that I never thought I could or would, in fact I didn't even want to learn how. But I have and I can do it. She just stands there and lets us. I am proud of her.

The view from my front door this evening. It was a pretty clear day but the mud is knee deep. It freezes every night and thaws during the day. We have half and inch to an inch of snow later yesterday that made the roads very very slick. After we went to dinner it was creeping along to get home. It is almost gone, just a little here and there today. We have had so little snow this winter that I really don't think I should complain.

This and That

This is Piper. She is l8 months old.
This is Kiyanna. She will be 3 next week. She is my little buddy.

Our grandson Robby who is the father of those precious great granddaughters. He looks so much like his father - our son Scott. They were too wound up to want to sit on his lap and post pretty for their Grammy and Robby said it was like trying to hold an armful of worms. We love them so much.

Nikki was here this weekend since late Thursday. We had such a good time. This is Isaac and Tiger. Lane was determined to take Tiger home but his mother of course said no and I told him that was my cat and he could not have him. Lane is 13 and having a hard time growing up. Isaac got to ride Rosie for a while but I forgot to take any pictures. Rosie was not really wanting to mind very much either. I should have lunged her first but it is still icy in the round pen and they wanted to go home today.

Lane and Raspberry. He is a real animal lover and its too bad they live in town. He would have chickens and cats and heaven knows what else.

This was Sage today. She is healing up so well. I would never have guessed it when I found it last week. Vetricin is wonderful stuff. She is getting a little better about the spray bottle but it is still not her favorite thing. Maybe by the time it is healed she will not wig out.

We did have a good weekend. I don't think Nikki realizes how much I miss her. She had a good morning at church. She got to see friends she has not seen in a while and I got to introduce her to Greg and Lisa, two of our favorite people. Her bestie friend from high school was there and she got to have a good chat with Joanne. Our youngest daughter Chrissy and her family came out Saturday evening. It was good. And today we sold two of our cows and now we have money to do some things and some to put in savings for an emergency fund. That had been worrying us.

So that was our weekend. Loved every minute of it.

Looking Back

Mustangs at the Wild Horse Corrals in Burns Oregon Probably close to 15 years ago. Lloyd was a youngish man and has now retired.
Bob at Mt. Rainer, Longmire area when he was young. I think the date on the picture is l943 but its in his brothers hand writing and it was later than that. We were born in l938 and I know he is older than 5 in that picture. Maybe l0 or 11.

Me and the Horse at the Fredrick Meyer Gardens in Grand Rapids, Michigan a few years ago. My friend Sue lives in Hastings. We had such fun.

Sage is doing well. She does not like the spray bottle but she IS going to get used to it.
