Precious Treasure

This picture was taken nearly 8 years ago. It was Thanksgiving day that year. On Face Book I said 6 weeks later but actually it was 2 1/2 months later that Scott - the one on the far left- died suddenly of a heart attack so this picture is truly my PRECIOUS TREASURE. The last of the five together.

And on the lighter side that is the couch I got rid of with the pink flowers so it truly was old and worn out.

I feel l00% better today. Went out to Sage for a couple of times for about 10 minutes each time. We put the halter off and on and picked up feet and just loved on her. She has two places she wants me to scratch, under her jowls and on her withers. She makes the funniest faces and does all sorts of contortions with her head to get me to run there. Love that horse. I mean I LOVE that horse.

I am about packed - at least for me. Guess I better get at Bob's stuff soon. He would go without anything if I didn't do it. We went to TN one time and he insisted he could pack himself and when we got there he had no socks and no shirts. Just what he had on. Since then, I do it. We are staying with our friend Andi in Burns.

Balance

This was a very hard word - BALANCE - to find something to take a picture of. This is my attempt. Sages front feet are about balanced - the same -. I might be stretching it but its my thinking today.

Sage is completely halter free as of today. I still am not feeling on top of the world. So I just went out and rubbed and petted and hugged on her. She let me put the halter off and on several times so I just left it off. She is getting more friendly all the time. Love it. She had an itchy spot under her jaw and I scratched it and I had to laugh at the contortions she put her head in to get me to scratch in just the right spot.

Did not go to church today. I still am sneezing and coughing. Don't need to spread this around any more. At least all the junk is leaving my head. It better hurry up because we are leaving on our trip on Wednesday. Hook or crook, I am going. The last time we had a trip planned to go look at wild horses I ended up in the hospital for a week with pneumonia. We did get to go but several weeks later. That was a trip to Wyoming and this time to Oregon. I will take a lot of pictures.

Shannon is working with Emma. She is doing well with Emma. We just needed to do something different and Shannon offered. Bob was getting frustrated and that never works.

DREAMING

My favorite trail to ride in the entire country. I call it the Enchanted Forest. You can ride along and just dream away. The trail is Clearwater Crossing in western Montana. It is so quiet and peaceful. Bob and I ride along not talking, just letting the trees talk to us.

The sky is on fire. Another of our drop dead gorgeous sunsets from my front porch this evening.

Bob is off turkey hunting and I am relaxing just like the doctor ordered.

WAITING

When you going to come play?

Today was day one of a photo challenge I am taking part in and the work of the day is waiting.

Actually I did do just a little with her today. We moved her to a different pen. She had not been touched for over 3 weeks. I went in and rubbed her shoulder and neck and put on a regular lead rope instead of the 20 footer I usually use. There are piles of dirt around outside her pen and stuff from the construction of the barn. She just followed me right out like she knew she should. At one point she jumped into my space. I touched her shoulder with my finger and she went right back where she should. I lead her across the round pen and into her new pen. It has a little more room and Sage does not need the high mustang fence any more. I was so proud of her.

I have a severe sinus infection. Went to the doctor yesterday and am on antibiotics. I feel much better today and am not coughing near as much That is a relief. The doctor told me to relax over the weekend so that is what I will do.

This afternoon we went down to Ritzville to meet out daughter Nikki and her friend Rita. I needed to get the things I forgot when I was over at Nikki's. They are there to go to a Mennonite Church Quilt Auction. They do sell some other things but its mostly lovely quilts that for the most part are hand pieced and hand quilted. I went with them about 3 years ago and Rita bought one for over a thousand dollars. They are beautiful but WAY out of my budget.

I am sick

No pictures no nothing. Am coughing my head off, my head is stuffy and I am just plain feeling like crud. I will be back when the bug is gone.

Summer Returning

No pictures and not much news. Our celebrating about Emma's halter was for naught. She got it off this afternoon. Bob won't choke her down again, me either but now we have to figure something else out. She is a little stiff and sore today but so am I so I don't feel terribly sorry for her.

Some college age kids from church came out today to play with the horses. Fun to have them around. They rode Pepper. And they two of the four kittens we had (again). Just 2 little cute female Tabby's left. The barn has really thinned down. Don't know where they all went. All I saw today was Fancy and her babies.

I hope tomorrow is more interesting.
